Shaw's Tavern in Washington, DC will hold a hot dog eating contest on July 4 awarding $250 to the winner.
Z Burger will hold its 5th annual eating contest at its Tenleytown location in Washington, DC on July 3. The contest will award $3000 in cash ($1250 to the winner) and $3000 in gift certificates ($1250 to the winner).
In September, the date of the finals for BGR's slider eating contest was announced as May 28, 2013 in Washington, DC. That competition did not take place yesterday. (The site of the Tampa qualifier closed in October.)
CNNMoney has an article about the "24" menu available at Texas Rangers games which includes supersized hot dogs, burgers, pretzels, sausages and quesadillas.
