It is now one month to St. Patrick's Day. Last year, TooJay's announced it hoped to bring back the corned beef sandwich eating competition in 2014. There is no mention of a contest this year on the deli's web site or facebook.

Registration is now open for the Creek Indian Taco Eating Contest at Wind Creek Casino in Atmore, AL on March 29. The oyster eating competition held at last year's event does not appear to be returning.  update Feb 11 Registration for The Magnify Credit Union World Ice Cream Eating Championship  in Lakeland, FL on April 12 will open today at noon eastern.

Joe LaRue won the eating contest held at the Florida Key Lime Pie Festival in Merritt Island today. He also took 3rd place in the hot sauce competition.

The Florida Key Lime Pie Festival will hold an eating contest on January 19 in Merritt Island, FL awarding $500 ($250 to the winner). The registration deadline is December 15.

Saturday's preliminary contest for the Orlando Chili Cook-Off World Chili Eating Challenge at Light Up UCF will award $500 in addition to two contest spots in the MLE contest in February. Entrants will need to submit a photo and the pictures with five most votes will compete in the preliminary.

VeggiePowered has posted a video of restaurant employees disposing the contents of several huge bowls into a dumpster. According to the video caption, the bowls contained the food uneaten by the finalists in the Hooters wing finals last month.
