Wooshop Films produced a video about the Maccabee sandwich eating contest held at Delicatessen in Philadelphia won by David Brunelli.
Barnaby's of Ridley, PA will hold a wing eating contest Thursday night awarding $250 to the winner.
The Abbaye in Philadelphia will host a vegan Wing Bowl on February 5.
A podcast of Takeru Kobayashi's appearance on 610 WIP this morning is available. Kobayashi talked about appearing (but not competing in) Wing Bowl 19 and oversaw the in-studio Wing Off won by Jason "The Shocker" Hall.
The facebook for Delicatessen in Philadelphia reports that David Brunelli won yesterday's "Maccabee" pastrami sandwich eating contest with a time of 5:42.
The Phoenixville News has an article about Rick "the Manager" Russo qualifying for the Wing Bowl. Bob Shoudt will be a member of Russo's entourage and "Gentleman" Jerry Coughlan (top 5 in 2007 & 2008 Wing Bowl, listed as a three time champion) will help with the float.
"Damaging Doug" Canavin won yesterday's Wing Off at Paddy Whack's by eating 53 wings in 10 minutes. Wing Bowl 19 will be at least the tenth Wing Bowl Doug Canavin has competed in. update AgentsSweetBreads has uploaded a video of the contest alleging cheating by Canavin.
The Wing Bowl 19 entrants list appears to be up to date and announces that "Quazy" won last Thursday's Wing Off at Downington, PA to gain a berth. (via "Snack Jack" email) Rick "the Manager" Russo also qualified by eating cakes off of four women representing the Philadelphia pro sports teams.
The Feast reports that Delicatessen in Philadelphia is holding a 48 ounce "Maccabee" sandwich eating contest on January 20. Qualify by eating a 24 ounce "Big Macher" in under 15 minutes before that date.
The Philadelphia City Paper has a report on Monday's Wing Off at the Sugar House Casino.
