Rungy describes Joey Chestnut as "not really like, a patriot, you know" who lacks personality. (Joey Chestnut did a tour of Pacific military bases with Adrian Morgan and Crazy Legs Conti last year and his brother served in the National Guard in Iraq.)

A press release lists the prizes to be payed out at Dickey's Barbecue eating contest in Dallas on October 18: $500 / $250 / $150 / $50. Qualifiers will be held Friday in Plano, TX and in Pleasanton, CA and Meridian, Idaho on Saturday.

The four Dallas area locations of Burguesa Burger will hold burger eating contests on September 17 awarding a 19 inch TV with a built in DVD player.
A press release announces that Dickey's Barbecue will hold a pork sandwich eating contest in Dallas on October 18. Dallas Observer's Brew at the Zoo will hold a wing eating contest on September 10 awarding a trip for two to Las Vegas. Qualifiers will be held on Tuesdays in August at Dallas-area Hooters starting tonight in Irving.
