A wing eating contest will be held in Fairfax, Virginia on September 18 at the George Mason University soccer game awarding $500 to the winner. The runner-up will receive two Washington Capitals suite tickets.

The second Richmond, Virginia Wing Bowl will take place over the next month. Four Saturday qualifiers will take place at Buffalo Wild Wings starting on July 31 and award $250 to the winner. The winner of the finals August 28 will receive $1000.

The contest should start at 1pm eastern according to a press release
HamptonRoads.com announces that Sonya Thomas will be competing in the Nathan's qualifier at MacArthur Center in Norfolk, Virginia on Saturday.
The MLE facebook reports that Andrew Bosque won yesterday's Nathan's qualifier at Naval Air Station Oceana restricted to active military personnel by eating 12 hot dogs in 10 minutes. (Presumably the 20 HDB minimum is not in effect for the military qualifiers)
IFOCE.com announces that registration opens today at 3pm for a new June 13 Nathan's qualifier at WinStar Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma (about 75 miles north of Dallas/Fort Worth). There is also information about the two qualifiers for military personnel at Fort Bragg and Naval Air Station Oceana. (It does not say if the 20 hot dog minimum will be in effect for the military qualifiers)

"Munchin" Mike Longo was the first person to complete the "Steakosaurus" 6.5 pound steak sandwich at the Family Pizzeria in Stafford, Virginia. Longo also completed the 28 inch pizza challenge at the Family Pizzeria with a partner and won tonight's wing eating contest at the Wing Hub in Bethesda, MD.
