Erik Denmark wins Fremont, CA Hooters qualifier

update May 31 Matt Stonie has a gallery

update May 29 results have been posted Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3

update Dax “The Ginger” Swanson says he had a 43 wing deduction due to insufficient cleaning. This is strange for two reasons: 1) A contest judged by weight should not penalize by wing count 2) There should be no penalty for insufficient cleaning in a weight based contest; wings not fully cleaned should simply result in a lower total weight

The top 3 from this evening’s Hooter’s wing qualifier in Fremont, CA:
1) Erik Denmark 140 wings
2) Steve Hendry 106
3) Ken Douglas 100

Expected entrants include Pat Bertoletti, Tim Brown, Meredith Boxberger, and Craig Reed, who expressed interest in competing in the swimsuit competition (Since he did not compete in the first round on April 18, he is probably not eligible.)

Adrian Morgan wins Jacksonville Hooters wing qualifier, Bello 2nd, Eater X 3rd

update May 6 Kerry Speckman has a contest report with pictures.

The 10:36pm comment noticed that Jon Bello’s 125 wings almost doubled tripled 125 the 65 45 wings he was credited with in the Augusta qualifier in April. I am not aware of any equivalent quantum leaps during a qualifier circuit. (Sonya Thomas 2003 Nathan’s 18 HDB -> 25 HDB, Joey Chestnut 2005 Nathan’s 20.5 HDB -> 32 HDB)

Announced Results:
1) Adrian Morgan 150 wings, Hooters circuit record

3) Tim Janus 124.5 wings

Kerry Speckman is at the contest and posting updates on twitter.

The top 3 in today’s Hooters qualfier in Mesquite, TX:
1) Bob Shoudt 120 wings
