Jamie McDonald will defend last year’s title at Mucho Burrito’s Ghost Pepper Eating Contest today. “Furious” Pete Czerwinski will not compete after he suffered an injury in last year’s contest and withdrew.
Wings in Surrey, BC will hold a wing eating contest on November 5 awarding $500 to the winner. Qualifiers will be held in 8 Vancouver-area locations on October 22 and 29.
The Metropole in Vancouver is holding a hot dog eating contest on September 29 awarding $250 to the winner.
The student newspaper for Concordia University of Montreal has an article about the "chompionship" for Canadian college students. Entrants will need to qualify and the top 11 will receive spots.
The Bradford (Ontario) Ribfest will hold a rib eating contest on September 21 awarding a 32 inch TV.
Takeru Kobayashi appears in a video promoting ChompChompChomp.ca, a contest for Canadian college students. Entrants will submit videos and five finalists will be chosen to compete in Toronto on October 28. The winner will receive $5000 in cash and $20000 in prizes for his/her school.
