The facebook for Paventi's Pizzeria in Charlotte reports that Jon Squibb completed their 32 inch pizza last week with a time of 34 minutes and was awarded $500. Dale Boone was the only person to previously defeat the challenge (time 42 minutes).
IFOCE.com announces that registration opens today at 3pm for a new June 13 Nathan's qualifier at WinStar Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma (about 75 miles north of Dallas/Fort Worth). There is also information about the two qualifiers for military personnel at Fort Bragg and Naval Air Station Oceana. (It does not say if the 20 hot dog minimum will be in effect for the military qualifiers)
A Jimmy John’s Freaky Fast Sandwich Making and Eating Contest will take place in Charlotte on May 28 as part of the Speed Street Festival.

Krispy Kreme Challenge 2010 results

Results for today’s running of the Krispy Kreme Challenge in Raleigh, NC are available on the event website. Eric Mack’s time of 27:48 won the contest, which entails running 2 miles to a Krispy Kreme, eating a dozen donuts and running 2 miles back. TechnicianOnline has a race diary by a competitor which reports that light snow flurries fell during the event.

NewsObserver.com reports that registration for the Krispy Kreme Challenge has closed after 6,000 entrants registered.

2010 Krispy Kreme Challenge registration open, 6K entrants expected

Registration for the February 6, 2010 Krispy Kreme Challenge is now open at http://krispykremechallenge.com/. Race organizers are expecting a field of 6000, an increase of 500 from 2009. The contest entails running 2 miles from the NC State University campus to a Krispy Kreme, consuming a dozen doughnuts at that location, and then running 2 miles to return.

Roast Grill record reclamation attempt

NewsObserver.com has an article about Gabe Gigliotti’s attempt to reclaim the record at The Roast Grill in Raleigh, NC by eating 24 chili dogs in under an hour. Gigliotti previously held records of 16 and 18 hot dogs. Adam Richman held the record between those marks when he ate 17 hot dogs on a March episode of Man vs. Food.

Will Millender’s twitter reports he won $1000 at today’s Charlotte, NC area hot dog eating contest by eating 8 hot dogs in 2 minutes and 10 seconds.

PMQ has the press release that was posted in the comments about Dale Boone being the first person to finish the 32 inch pizza challenge at Paventi's in Charlotte, NC. Boone received $500 after finishing the pizza in 42 minutes.
