(Via the Konformist) Las Vegas Weekly has an article about Playboy Playmate Laura Croft's (Miss July 2008) attempt at the 6 pound B^3 Burrito at the NASCAR Cafe. (The article also confirms that the 9 pound burger challenge at the Plaza is defunct)
In Henderson, NV (south Las Vegas area, home of the LeFevres) on August 22, a hot dog eating contest will be held in conjunction with a wet t shirt contest. The hot dog contest has a $100 entry fee (for charity) and will award $500 to the winner.
Brendan Buhler wrote an article for the Las Vegas Sun on the 6 pound burrrito challenge offered by the Nascar Cafe which reports that only 4 out of 279 diners have successfully completed it.

A press release about the Las Vegas Nathan's qualifier states this will be the 12th year Las Vegas has hosted a qualifier.
A corned beef eating contest will be held at Hash House a Go Go in Las Vegas the morning of St. Patrick's Day. The first prize is $780 in gift certificates.
The NASCAR Cafe at at the Sahara Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has started offering a 6 pound "Bomb" burrito challenge. Diners who complete the meal will receive it for free along with a T shirt and 2 roller coaster passes.
El Toro & friend complete Vegas pizza challenge
BeautifulBrian.com has some pictures from the 8 pound “Beast” pizza El Toro and an unnamed partner completed from Graziano’s Pizza in Las Vegas, which is the only Nevada pizza challenge offering an award I am aware of.
Toby Keith’s 100 ounce challenge
Country music superstar Toby Keith has a restaurant at Harrah’s casino in Las Vegas which offers a 100 ounce eating challenge. In addition to two pounds of hamburger, the challenge also requires diners to finish 32 ounces of beer and 16 ounces of “freedom fries” along with other items. Customers who complete the challenge will receive a T – shirt. A picture of the burger is available on flickr. With the demise of the Plaza Casino’s Big Daddy challenge, this might be the only burger challenge in Las Vegas.

Rich LeFevre reports in a comment that he successfully completed the 120 ounce steak challenge at the Brand Steakhouse in 40 minutes. The list price of the steak is $267. Video of his attempt will appear on rawvegas.tv.
