The New York Post has an article about the Feast of San Gennaro terminating its eating contests. Its cannoli competition was probably the most famous eating contest in Manhattan. The article has quotes from Matt Pruznick, cannoli champion the previous two years, and Crazy Legs Conti, winner of the 2009 contest.
The Feast of San Gennaro, which will start Thursday in the Little Italy Section of New York City, has dropped all four of its eating contests. The cannoli competition was probably the most famous eating competition in Manhattan.
The Buffalo Bills will hold a wing eating contest before their September 17 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. The entrants selected will all receive two tickets to the game.

Joey Chestnut, Geoff Esper, Miki Sudo, Nick Wehry, Gideon Oji, James Webb, George Chiger, Ronnie Hartman, Badlands Booker, Crazy Legs Conti, Jim Reeves and Mike Harris are expected to compete in the Wing It On! USA Chicken Wing Eating Championship at the Buffalo Wing Fest September 3.
Joey Chestnut, Miki Sudo, Nick Wehry, Gideon Oji, George Chiger, Ronnie Hartman, Badlands Booker, Crazy Leg Conti, Jim Reeves, Rene Rovtar and Cherish Brown are expected to compete in the Buffalo Buffet Bowl Eating Championship on September 2.
The pumpkin pie eating contest does not appear on the Great Pumpkin Farm's 2023 Fall Festival schedule. The competition on Clarence, NY had previously awarded $1,800.

Jungly in Long Island City, NY will hold a hot wing eating contest July 23 awarding a pair of UNC Michael Jordan 1 shoes.
Registration will open today for a Nathan's Famous qualifier to be held in Selsey, West Sussex, England on August 26. I think this will be the first Nathan's qualifier held outside the USA since a Beijing qualifier in 2011. Registration is now open for the Slopper championship at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo on September 2, the Buffalo Buffet Bowl on September 2, the USA Chicken Wing Eating Championship in Buffalo on September 3 and the Lewisville, TX tamale contest on September 30.
The Schuyler Corn Competition and Car Show will hold a corn eating contest in Schuyler, NY on August 12 awarding $1,000 to the winner.
Joey Chestnut wins 16th Nathan’s Famous title
The 2023 Nathan’s men’s contest has been cancelled due to lightning and rain. I am not sure why the 2020 contest setup could not be recreated in the second floor of Nathan’s Famous’ building and the competition held later today.

Nick Wehry announces that he will be competing in Saturday's strawberry shortcake eating contest in Mattituck, NY along with Geoff Esper, Miki Sudo and Badlands Booker. If Joey Chestnut misses this contest, he will be coming into Nathan's Famous contest on July 4 with just two victories in nine contests over the past 18 months.
Registration will open at noon for the Mattituck Lions Club World Strawberry Shortcake Eating Championship in Mattituck, NY on June 17.
Nathan’s qualifier May 13 in Kissimmee, FL
A facebook event page claims that the first Nathan’s Famous qualifier of 2023 will take place May 13 at Old Town in Kissimmee, FL (south Orlando). BBQ in DC will also hold a qualifier in Washington, DC on June 24. The traditional New York Mets Father’s Day qualifier might also return. Nathan’s will sponsor the giveaway promotion for their June 18 game, which has previously been a hint that a qualifier will take place during the event.
update April 21 A press release says there will also be qualifiers in Cincinnati on June 17 (probably a Reds game) and Pleasanton, CA (probably a return to the Alameda County Fair)
Registration opens today (April 21) at noon eastern for the Kissimmee qualifier.
