World hot dog-eating champion Joey Chestnut and arch-rival Takeru Kobayashi will face off on Saturday, May 30, 2009, in one of the greatest battle of their careers: The Pizza Hut P’Zone Chow-lenge. The five-minute event featuring the monster 12″-inch, one-pound P’Zones will take place at Sony Studios in Los Angeles, and portions of the contest will be aired on SpikeTV’s Guys Choice Awards in June.

Kobayashi was to participate in a P’Zone exhibition in 2007 but declined due to “jawthritis”. Joey Chestnut took his place (video)

The new poll asks how many of the AICE pre-contract top 50 will remain listed in the rankings.

Will Millender has announced he will not sign the AICE contract and has already been unlisted. (Ian Hickman has also been moved from the Hall of Fame back into the active rankings)

According to the eatfeats database, Juliet Lee’s victory in yesterday’s clam contest was the first time in her competitive eating career she finished ahead of Tim Janus. The streak spanned 17 contests. A list of results is available after the jump:

The Japanese language blog for Go! Go! Curry! has a poster of the five curry eating contest finalists mentioning that three of the competitors have previously competed in the Nathan’s finals.

The contest will be webcast on http://www.justin.tv/gogocurryusa on Saturday.

Here is section 5 of the WLOCE contract according to Andrew “A-Bomb” Lane’s blog:

5. Entertainer is free to enter into this agreement and does not have any other agreement or obligation that would conflict with the provisions hereof. Entertainer understands that Entertainer is not an employee of WLOCE or any related party for any purpose and expressly waives any right to receive benefits accorded to the employees of WLOCE or any related party. This agreement contains the entire understanding between the parties, supersedes all prior understanding an agreements, whether written or oral and cannot be terminated, modified or any of it’s provisions waived except by a written instrument signed by both parties. This Agreement shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of applicable to contracts entered into and fully performed therein. Each of the parties irrevocably submits to the jurisdiction of any Georgia State or United States Federal Court sitting in Dekalb County, GA, in any action or proceeding arising out of or relating to this Agreement. WLOCE may freely assign this Agreement and it’s rights and obligations hereunder to any third party.
