The Big Eaters Club reports that Molly Schuyler finished the 72 ounce steak challenge at Sayler's in Portland in 2:41, this is less than half of the previous best reported time of 6:48 by "Furious" Pete Czerwinski for a 72 ounce steak challenge.
Last night, former NFL lineman Kyle Turley announced he would attempt the 72 ounce steak challenge at the Big Texan in Amarillo. He actually ordered a 24 ounce steak, citing too many rules as his reason for declining the challenge.

Molly Schuyler finishes Great Steak Challenge in 3:22
The facebook page for The Great Steak Challenge at Steak an Main in North East, MD announces that Molly Schuyler finished the meal consisting of approximately 74 ounces of steak in 4:30. This would probably be the record for any 72+ ounce steak challenge, surpassing marks of 6:48 by Pete Czerwinksi (Lone Star in Toronto) and 8:52 by Joey Chestnut (Big Texan at Amarillo, TX) Wayne Algenio also finished the challenge in 28 minutes last night.

The Big Texan 72 ounce steak finishers list has been updated to include a time of 14:45 by Daniel Carpenter of Langwarrin, Australia earlier this month.
The Wall Street Journal has an article about event dining mentioning a 72 ounce steak at the Arlington Club in Manhattan. The item costs $550 (listed as $555 in the original article), but does include a 16 ounce lobster tail. (try Google News if article not accessible)
KAMR produced a video segment about the history of the Big Texan's steak challenge. Over 100,000 attempts have been made at the 72 ounce steak since the Amarillo, TX restaurant opened.
Telly.com has a video about the filming of the scene in "The Guilt Trip" where Barbra Streisand attempts a steak challenge (a substitute food was used for the eating scenes). The movie was released on DVD Tuesday.
While usually one or two women finish the 72 ounce steak challenge at the Big Texan in Amarillo, TX, each year that was not the case in 2012. According to the finishers list, the most recent woman who finished the steak without assistance appears to be Mirit Ohana of Hollywood, FL in October 2011. (Jordan Lloyd is listed even though she ate the steak with Jeff Schroeder for a reality TV program.)

Elliot Lake (Ontario) Standard reports that parliamentarian Carol Hughes ate 53.2 ounces of steak to defeat Michael Mantha by .7 ounces in a 70 ounce steak eating contest.

Miki Sudo has posted a video of her finishing a 120 ounce steak at Brand Steakhouse in Las Vegas. This is the second 7.5 pound steak challenge Miki has done; she finished the challenge at Herbs & Rye in November. El Toro has produced a video tribute to Miki.
