Digital Spy reports that “Gentleman” Joe Menchetti appeared on America’s Got Talent tonight and attempted to eat 5 pizzas in 90 seconds. (He did not advance to the next round.) The episode should be available on NBC.com soon. Will Millender says he was originally cast for the program, but could not appear due to gall bladder surgery and recommended Menchetti take his place.

Sam Skelton relays a rumor that Man vs. Food will record at Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse today. Dan Hardy reports that the program recorded at Wohl Practice Field at Syracuse University earlier today. update Syracuse.com has an article about the recording. A commenter says the program will record at Mother’s Cupboard on Thursday.

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek will do a jalapeno eating contest on First Take on ESPN2 Friday. He is holding a contest on his facebook that will award an autograph to the fan who submits a video eating the most jalapenos in a minute.
update May 13 Celek’s competition will be Pat Bertoletti and four other ESPN employees. The MLE facebook says that the contest should start around 11:45 eastern.
Wide receiver D Yergey of the Philadelphia Liberty Belles says she can outeat any of the linewomen on her team in an eating contest.

The MLE facebook reports that Sonya Thomas will do a jalapeno exhibition on Fox & Friends on the Fox News Network tomorrow (7am – 10am eastern) and then do an appearance on FoxNews.com after the program.
