A documentary will be produced about a road trip to Toronto for tomorrow's poutine eating contest will star Micah Collins, Larell Marie Mele, Bill Myers and Bob Shoudt. (This will not be the first project about a voyage to Yonge Street (site of the contest) to seek fortune; an SCTV sketch from 1982 Garth and Gord and Fiona and Alice has the same subject.)
The student newspaper for McGill University has an article about its poutine eating contest against a team from Concordia University in Montreal tomorrow.
The Toronto Sun lists Pat Bertoletti, Eric "Badlands" Booker, Micah "Wing Kong" Collins, Meredith Boxberger and Maria "Edible" as expected entrants in Smoke's Poutinerie eating contest on October 13. "Wild" Bill Myers and Larell Marie Mele are other probable competitors.
Mucho Burrito will hold a ghost pepper burrito eating contest on October 20 awarding $2,500 to the winner.

Two Parrots Perch & Grill in Vancouver will hold two taco eating contests tomorrow awarding $350 ($200 to the winner).
EatMyPie.ca has a preview of Sunday's pizza eating contest to be held at PIE - Wood Fire Pizza Joint in Barrie, Ontario. In addition to Takeru Kobayashi and "Furious" Pete Czerwinski, Jamie McDonald, Stephanie Torres (billed as the #2 female competitive eater in the world) and 680 pound sumo wrestler Manny Yarborough are also listed as expected entrants.
Pie in Barrie, ON will hold its pizza eating contest on September 16 awarding $5000 to the winner. Takeru Kobayashi is expected to defend his title and Manny Yarbrough, billed as the world's largest athlete, is another entrant. Competitors will need to qualify by eating a whole pizza.
The facebook for Piola in Toronto has results and pictures from the gnocchi eating contest held Sunday hosted by "Furious" Pete Czerwinski. Steven Dorgo ate 2.418 kg of pasta to win a vintage Vespa scooter.

Robert Firlotte reports that Aaron Osthoff won the men’s division of today’s Nathan’s qualifier in Calgary with 33 hot dogs. Aaron’s wife Heather appears to have won the women’s division according to this picture. update Heather ate 12 hot dogs as did the Canadian female champion Nicole. The male Canadian champion was Gino with 16 hot dogs.
