SmileInAZ has videos of Chava Cannon becoming the first woman to finish the Jewish Slider Challenge at Chompie's in Tempe, Arizona (part 1 | part 2 | part 3). Chava is the fourth person to complete the challenge. Steve Roberson and his son Brent Roberson finished the challenge on July 24.
The AZ Daily Star has a report on the Snowbowl Hill Climb in Flagstaff, Arizona. The seven mile race had a 2,200 foot climb and awarded $100 to the first male and female who finished the race after eating a double cheeseburger from Mama Burger at the 6 mile mark.

“Cardboard Shell” finishes 3 pound burger in 6 minutes
“Cardboard Shell” (a petite woman) has posted a blog entry about her completion of the three pound burger at Lobby’s in Tempe, Arizona at a contest held by the College Times. Her time of 6 minutes set an overall record for the restaurant. The College Times facebook has a gallery of the event.
“Cardboard Shell” also had Lindy’s on 4th in Tuscon create a special version of their “OMFG” 3 pound burger having grilled cheese sandwiches for buns and onion rings as a topping for each patty, which she was able to finish in the time limit of 20 minutes.

Third Battle of the Bone (Phoenix area) announced
A press release announces the 2010 Battle of the Bone. Weekly qualifiers will be held in Phoenix-area Native New Yorker restaurants starting March 3 in Tempe. The finals will take place on August 21 and award a motorcycle valued at approximately $10,000. The contest is restricted to amateurs.

According to the menu, a Jewish slider consists of a mini challah roll filled with moist lean brisket, mini potato pancakes and Jack cheese.

There is now a new series in the works that will be a companion to Man V Food, and they are coming to Tucson to prove if El Guero Canelo really does have the best Sonoran dog in Tucson.
They are welcoming fans to the shoots where they will conduct interviews and then feature the ultimate Superfan on the show. They will also be pitting El Guero Canelo Vs a challenger.
A craigslist posting seeks audience members for Austin filming sessions that will take place from January 20-22.
