Jose’s flauta registration opens Monday

IFOCE.com announces registration for the flauta eating contest at Jose’s in La Jolla, California will open Monday. Slots will also be given to qualifier winners. The next qualifier will take place tomorrow and a promo contest will be held tomorrow at 9:30 on XETV.

IFOCE.com also announces an unnamed Mid-Atlantic contest on November 14. (This might be the Roy Rogers roast beef slider eating contest (called a “monster event”)

Jose's La Jolla facebook reports that Greg "The Floss" Moss doubled the previous flauta qualifier record last Saturday by eating 30 flautas in 4 minutes.
LaJollaLight has an article about a flauta eating contest qualifier held at Jose's Court Room in La Jolla, California. (San Diego area) The finals on December 6 will be sanctioned by the IFOCE and the purse will be $3,500.
According to Will Millender, the eating contest held at the Alt Games last month will be televised on CBS at 2pm eastern on Saturday, May 16.
Will Millender has posted a blog entry about the Hulk Burger challenge and winning the eating contest at the Alt Games. Will notes that a video and article about the eating contest are available on the Alt Games website.

Collegiate Nationals qualifier report

SignOnSanDiego.com has a report and video about last night’s qualifier for the Collegiate Nationals eating contest. Ryan McMillan won by eating 2 pounds of french fries in 3 minutes and 18 seconds. The other three qualifiers are Darrin Wolff, Chris Hanson and Josh Ballard.
