Tampa Rays outfielder attempted a 35 ounce steak along with vegetables, two salads, two regular sides and a bag of donuts at Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill in Clearwater, FL. The restaurant donated $4000 to his charity of choice, Joshua House, despite lack of success.

Nathan Figueroa has posted a video from Saturday's eating contest at the Key Lime Pie Festival in Port Canaveral, FL where he finished 3rd. He was handicapped by having to use a plastic hand clapper as his utensil. (via Stephanie Wu)

Miami.eater.com reports that Joshua Woodward, former owner of 8 Oz. Burger Bar, is expected to be sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading no contest to charges of attempted murder for attempting to induce a miscarriage of his former mistress in 2009. The restaurant held an 8 pound burger challenge.
