Wienerville III in Elgin, IL (west Chicago area) will hold a hot dog eating contest on Sunday awarding $350 ($200 to the winner). The contest will benefit the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
Tomas Cortina's twitter announces that he defeated Dale Boone in Saturday's Bacci Pizza eating contest in Chicago, 6 giant slices to 5.5, to claim a prize of $1,500.
A Brown Cow Trough eating contest will be held tonight at the Brown Cow in Forest Park, Illinois for three person teams. A soy version of the 22 scoop sundae has been created for an all vegan team.
The second Pepe's soft taco eating contest will take place in Balmoral Park (south Chicago area) at 7:30 pm Saturday. The contest will apparently award $500 to the winner. Bacci Pizza will also hold a Chicago-area contest (total purse $2250) on Saturday.

Bob Kuhn’s wins Bartolini’s meatballs
The facebook for Bartolini’s reports that Bob “Killer” Kuhns won today’s meatball contest by eating 36.5 meatballs in 7 minutes.

The facebook page for Bartolini's Restaurant has a list of the top amateur qualifiers for its meatball contest Sunday in Midlothian, Illinois.
Tomas Cortina won Pop's hot dog eating contest at the Palos Heights Independence Day celebration on July 3 with a total of 17.5 hot dogs in 10 minutes and received a prize of $500. Frank Wach was the runner up with 16 hot dogs.
A pizza eating contest awarding $2,250 ($1,500 to the winner) will take place at the Bacci Pizza Fest in Chicago on July 31. Qualify by eating 3 slices of pizza in under 20 minutes.

Durbin's Restaurant will hold qualifiers for its pizza eating contest in the Chicago area on June 22, June 29 and July 6. The finals on July 18 will award a trip to Las Vegas for two.
