Richard Shea announced that Mia Davekos was the only woman to register as of March 20. Jim Reeves’ wife Terri will also be competing today.
Tim Janus has withdrawn from Saturday's Nathan's qualifier in Boston and is expected to compete in Queens June 29. This keeps Tom Gilbert's hopes of retaining the wild card lead alive.

Contact Music reports that Mark Wahlberg was "left speechless" by an unnamed competitive eater eating 12 burgers in 10 minutes during the recording of the pilot episode for his eating challenge show. The episode was taped on January 15 and will be televised on the History Channel.
