The Stoneyard Bar and Grill in Brockport, NY (Rochester area) will hold the WHTK Wing Off wing eating contest on Thursday. A 50 inch flat screen TV will be awarded to the winner.
"Hurricane" Dave Solomon's story about winning the amateur wing eating contest at the 2009 Buffalo Wing Festival has been selected as a semifinalist in the Wing Fest Road Warrior Story contest.

An IFOCE rib eating contest has been held in July at the Chinook Winds Casino on the Oregon coast. There does not appear to be any information about a 2011 contest on the casino website.
An eating contest will be held at the "Meat Destroyer" all you can eat BBQ in Tonawanda, NY tomorrow. The amount eaten by competitors during the entire day of the event will be kept track of, and the winner will receive a trip for two to Las Vegas. A ten minute hot dog contest will also be held.
Buffalo area hot dog eating contest Saturday, $250 first prize
Nestor’s Texas Hots in North Tonawanda will hold a hot dog eating contest on Saturday awarding $250 to the winner.
WIVB.com reports that Chris "The Mad Greek" Abatsas won a pumpkin pie eating contest at the Clarence, NY Fall Festival by eating 25 pieces of pie in 8 minutes.

The New York Times reports that 85 year old former New York City mayor Ed Koch ordered a 32 ounce steak in Buffalo called the Brontosaurus and quit after eating seven bites.
A Pepto Bismol press release announces that Joey Chestnut will compete against a team of amateurs at the San Francisco Street Food Festival and Buffalo Wing Festival. Competitive goldfish eating “mockumentary” debuts
The Story of Furious Pete is not the only competitive eating film to debut at a Great Lakes film festival this month. Jared Mobarak has a review of Bad Fish a “mockumentary” about competitive goldfish eating which was screened on April 16 at the Buffalo Niagara Film Festival. The protagonists are members of NICCAGE (The National and International Community of Competitors in the Association of Goldfish Eating). The film includes footage from the Buffalo Wing Festival.
