Tim "Obi Wing Kenobi" Cain has uploaded a video of his second place finish in at a Rock the Tot contest at a Pittsburgh Bar Louie. Brad "The Lunatic" Sciullo won the contest with by eating 5 pounds and 13 ounces of tater tots, an amount greater than the national winner ate the previous two years.

Steakbellie to do “Tough Mudder” for charity

Eric “Steakbellie” Livingston will be participating in the “Tough Mudder” 7 mile obstacle course race on May 2 (the day after he competes in the Dorney Park cheesesteak contest) to raise money for the Wounded Warrior project. He has set up a donation link for the charity on active.com.

The facebook for the Double Wide Grill reports that Brad "The Lunatic" won its eating contest last night by eating a 1.5 pounds of tofu and seitan wings in 40 seconds.

Brad Sciullo wins Men’s Culinary Classic pierogi contest

The Herald Standard reports that Brad Sciullo won the pierogi-eating contest at the Men’s Culinary Classic at the Washington County Fairgrounds by eating 58 pierogis in 3 minutes. Some more facts about Sciullo from the article:

  • He says he almost died and had a temperature of 104 after eating the 15+ pound Denny’s Belly Buster burger
  • He claims to have won the world milk drinking competition by drinking a gallon of milk in 22 seconds
  • His next contest will take place Thursday at the finals of the tofu wing eating contest at the Double Wide Grill.

The Reading Eagle reports that Berks County Deputy Sheriff Alicia L. Angstadt ate 60 wings in 8 minutes in a charity wing eating contest, double the amount her two male teammates ate.

IFOCE May 2010 schedule

The MLE facebook lists three new May 2010 contests:

  • May 1 Philly cheesesteaks, Dorney Park, Allentown PA
  • May 8 Boneless wings, Isle of Capri, Boonville Missouri
  • May 22 Poutine, Toronto (first IFOCE Canadian contest since 2003 Vancouver Nathan’s qualifier)

I have not seen any news about a MLE contest at the Big Texan in Amarillo on April 10 since it was announced in Nations Restaurant News.

The odds for Wing Bowl 18 have been added to the list of competitors. Defending champion John Squibb is the favorite at 2-1. The Wing Bowl weigh-in will take place at Chickie & Pete's starting at 5 pm this evening.
