2018 Hopcat Crack Fry qualifiers

Here are the results I have for yesterday’s Crack Fry eating qualifiers held at Hopcat locations in the Midwest. Sam Pohlen was the first female to win a crack fry contest. update Ethan Teske won the Minneapolis contest.

Daily Advance reports that Bradley Hardison was arrested for allegedly breaking into a Dunkin Donuts in Elizabeth City, NC. He earlier received notoriety for getting arrested for a break-in in Camden, NC after winning a donut eating contest held by police in 2014.
The Kansas City Star has an article about local burrito eating challenges which mentions Molly Schuyler's record of 1:37 for the 5 pound "747" burrito at Habanero's in Lees Summit, MO.
Nadia White qualified for Wing Bowl 26 by eating 41 wings in tonight's wing off At P J Whelihan's in Sewell, NJ. She is the first female to qualify for Wing Bowl 26 (Molly Schuyler received a bye).

The Fink Beats the Stomach announced the winners of their “Finkies” awards for 2017, which were based on online polls:

Male Competitive Eater of the Year: Joey Chestnut
Female Competitive Eater of the Year: Michelle “Cardboard Shell” Lesco
Emcee of the Year: Eric “Badlands” Booker

Darron Breeden did not agree with the Rookie of the Year choice. Molly Schuyler and Miki Sudo have yet to comment on the Female of the Year award.

Buffalo Chips in Bonita Springs, FL will hold the Florida State Chicken Wing Eating Contest on January 20 awarding $500 to the winner. Entrants need to qualify.

Hopcat Brewery locations will hold "crack fries" eating contests on January 20 awarding victors a prize package valued at $500 and a chance to win $2,000 in the World Championship Crack Fries Eating Contest at the 2018 Michigan Brewer’s Guild Summer Beer Festival in Ypsilanti, MI.
10 Tavern in Washington, DC will hold a wing eating contest on January 21 awarding a Super Bowl viewing party. Qualifiers on January 6, 7, 13 and 14 will award the winners a spot in the finals along with $100/$50/$25 bar tabs to the top three finishers.
