2016 Nathan’s finals live on ESPN3.com
The ESPN3.com schedule for July 4 is now out. The men’s & women’s Nathan’s finals will be live streamed on that platform. The broadcast will be tape-delayed on ESPN at 3pm eastern due to Wimbledon coverage.
2016 Nathan’s finals on ESPN at 3pm
The ESPN schedule for July 4, 2016 lists the first showing of the Nathan’s finals at 3 pm. This will be a three hour tape-delay if the competition has its traditional noon start time, as the countdown counter on nathansfamous.com implies. There will also be three reruns on ESPN2. The July 4 web-streaming schedule for ESPN3.com, which shows the women’s division, is not yet available.
It appears that both ESPN and ESPN2 will be broadcasting tennis from Wimbledon while the Nathan’s finals competitions take place.
ITV has posted a casting call for big eaters for an upcoming UK television show.
Vancouver.craigslist.ca has a request for Canadian competitive eaters to compete in the qualifier for Battle of the Big Eaters 4 in Vancouver in September. The selected competitors will face teams from Japan, the USA and another country later in the fall in Dallas. Entrants appearing in the qualifier will receive $200 and those that compete in Dallas will get an additional $500.
Matt Stonie will appear on Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon on NBC at 8pm tomorrow.
Three women faced off in a hot dog eating contest on yesterday's episode of the Jerry Springer Show. At the conclusion, the competition devolved into a food fight (and almost an actual fight).
There was a donut eating contest between Khalil Roundtree and Cory Hendricks on last night's episode of The Ultimate Fighter on Fox Sports 1. The loser had to have makeup applied. Takeru Kobayashi appeared on today’s episode of Matsuko Deluxe a show starring a plus-size transvestite. Additional guests include:
- Takako Akasaka, 3rd place in 2000 Nathan’s and first woman to exceed 20 hot dogs in a Nathan’s July 4 contest
- Nobuyuki “The Giant” Shirota 3rd place in 2004 Nathan’s and winner of 3 out of 4 Food Battle Club contests
- Kaz Arai 2000 Nathan’s winner and 2001 Nathan’s runner up
