The Brooklyn Cylones have produced a bobble-head doll of Joey Chestnut sitting on a hot dog throne that will be given to the first 1,500 fans that attend their July 3 game. In honor of the occasion, the team will be renamed the Coney Island Franks for one day.

Kobayashi announces retirement in Netflix documentary

Takeru Kobayashi is one of four subjects in the new Netflix documentary, “Hack Your Health: The Secrets of Your Gut”. His segment focuses on his inability to feel hunger after a 20 year competitive eating career. He decides to retire from eating contests to improve his gastrointestinal health: (youtube trailer) (transcript)

After analyzing Kobayashi’s poop and also performing other tests, including scanning his brain’s responses to images of different foods, doctors informed him that his microbiome was actually in good shape, but his brain scans were abnormal. This revelation means that getting to the bottom of Kobayashi’s lack of hunger will be more complex, and in order to focus on restoring his health, he’s decided to quit competitive eating. He has “mixed feelings” about it, but after years of ignoring his body’s signals, he’s eager to see if he can repair his gut-brain connection.

Dexerto has a post about accusations that Tiktok star "PinkyDoll" is faking videos of eating large amounts of food due to jump cuts. A video of her appearing to eat a 5kg burger has received almost 20 million views. PinkyDoll's previous focus was "NPC" streaming in which she acted as if she was an algorithm-controlled video game character.

Does anyone know who won the national $2000 prize? Joey Chestnut did an interview on yesterday's Hochman & Crowder show to promote today's Wings for Wishes contest in Miami. The most interesting part starts at 4:00 where Joey discusses his MLE contract status. He says he is not currently signed for the 2024 Nathan's finals. He is willing to do a one year extension, but is balking at a four year term that MLE is apparently demanding. At the 6:10 mark Joey praises James Webb but also appears to cast doubt on his victory in last month's pistachio eating contest: "He is notorious for swallowing things whole, like he will swallow nuts whole."

Nathan Klein announced that he completed the Loco Moco Burrito Challenge at Aina Grill in Waipahu, HI to give him victories over restaurant challenges in all fifty states. I think the only other people to accomplish that milestone are Randy Santel, Ramsey Hilton and Ivan Mendoza. Is anyone aware of any others?
