A press release announces an alliance between Nathan's Famous and Damhus, "a German manufacturer of quality meat-products since 1936", to manufacture and distribute hot dogs throughout Europe. It is interesting that a Jewish-founded company would partner with a firm started in Nazi Germany. The document makes no mention of a possible European qualifier for Nathan's hot dog eating contest.

The British Eating League will hold today the first of four qualifiers for a parmo eating contest awarding 500 pounds. Pro eaters can receive a bye to the finals. The league has started a youtube channel. The first video is a review of the organization by Bob Shoudt.

Yorkshire Evening Post reports that Kyle Gibson won the first prize of £500 in Saturday's eating contest held at Mumtaz in Leeds. Gibson was the only person to finish his meal, which consisted of a whole chcken, 4 curry dishes, naan bread and chips and a kebab.

Bracknell News has an article about Kate Ovens completing the challenge platter at Blue's Smokehouse in Bracknell, England which consisted of a rack of ribs, pulled pork, burnt ends and brisket, a half chicken, three sausages, coleslaw, chips and corn. The challenge was part of the Eat Out to Help Out campaign to promote restaurants.
