Dave "Tiger Wings and Things" Brunelli announces he won last night's Wing Off at P J Whelihan's in Washington Township, NJ with a total of 45 wings in 10 minutes.
PJ Whelihan's in Turnersville, NJ will hold a Wing Off qualifier for Wing Bowl 20 on December 15. The only other Wing Off on the calendar takes place at PJ Whelihan's in Downington, PA on January 5.
The Wing Bowl 20 website announces that Nick "Papagorgio" Kehler will compete in the finals after winning this morning's Wing Off at PJ Whelihan’s in Cherry Hill, NJ after defeating Al the Alligator, Snack Jack and Bam Bam Wingalow in overtime. (gallery) The finals on February 3, 2012 will award a Chevy Camaro to the top local and $20,000 to the overall winner.

Wing Bowl 20 announced, first Wing Off Monday

WingBowl.CBSLocal.com has been updated with information about the 20th edition of the contest. The first Wing-Off qualifier awarding a spot in the finals on February 3, 2012 will take place Monday, morning, November 28 at PJ Whelihan’s in Cherry Hill, NJ (via Nick Kehler). PhillyBurbs reports that an eating contest will be held at the Wing Fling in Edgewater Park, NJ on Saturday. The first prize is $100 and the runner up will receive $50.

Video w/o results from Maple Shade Wing Off

The Eating Machine has posted two short clips recorded at last night’s Wing Off at PJ Whelihan’s in Maple Shade, New Jersey, but it does not include any contest footage or results. The Eating Machine apparently did not compete in the qualifier as he had already qualified for Wing Bowl 17 by eating 30 ounces of mayonnaise in 1:30. This is a better rate per minute that the official IFOCE mayonnaise record of 4 32 ounce bowls of mayonnaise in 8 minutes held by Oleg Zhornitskiy

Wing Bowl 17 Wing Off schedule announced

A list of 7 “Wing Off” qualifiers is available on 610WIP’s Wing Bowl 17 page. Winners of the Wing-Offs will receive a slot in the Wing Bowl. The first qualifier will take place tomorrow at PJ Whelihan’s in Maple Shade, New Jersey. The second Wing Off will take place at Paddywhack’s in Philadelphia on January 9. There will be 6 Wing Offs between January 9 and January 22. The Wing Offs will be co-hosted by former Eagle Hugh Douglas, so wearing a Terrell Owens jersey to the contest is probably not advisable. 😉

Philly.com: Badlands Booker to compete in Camden qualifier

Philly.com has an article about the Camden, NJ and West Chester, PA Nathan’s qualifiers with the following information about the field:

Expect other big-name, gut-throat gorgers to be in West Chester and Camden. Eric “Badlands” Booker, who has recorded hip-hop albums about his eating exploits, will exit retirement to take on the likes of Eric “Steakbellie” Livingston and Micah “Wing Kong” Collins, both of Drexel Hill, as well as Pat “from Moonachie” Philbin, who has qualified for three straight July Fourth finals.

PhillyBurbs blogs reports that Booker will compete in the Camden qualifier (which is not clear in the philly.com article)

Wing Bowl 16 Q & A

Angelo Cataldi answers some questions about Wing Bowl 16 in his blog. There will be 6 Wing Off qualifiers, with the first being held on Dec. 12 at P.J. Whelihan’s in Cherry Hill, N.J. Cataldi reports that negotiations between WIP and the IFOCE to allow Joey Chestnut to defend his title are still in progress. but they expect to reach an agreement.
