The MLE facebook lists some expected entrants in the Lewisville, TX tamale eating contest: Tim Janus, Sonya Thomas, Erik Denmark, Bryan Beard, Kevin Ross, Adrian Morgan, Nick Bauer, Kobi Bauer, Gary Klucken, Donovan Busta & Aaron Ostoff, fourth place finisher in last week's bratwurst contest. update The Dallas Observer reports that Nate Biller will also compete.
The eating contest twitter announces that defending champion Tim Janus, Sonya Thomas, Erik Denmark, Nate Biller, Adrian Morgan and Bryan Beard are expected to compete in the tamale contest in Lewisville, Texas on September 25. NeighborsGo.com has an interview with Tim Janus.

Fort Worth diner starts 10+ lb. chicken fried steak challenge

Star Telegram reports that the Cowtown Diner in Fort Worth has started a chicken fried steak challenge consisting of 4 pounds of meat, 6 pounds of potatos and 10 slices of Texas toast. The meal is estimated to have 10,000 calories and is free to anyone who can finish it.

An 8 pound chicken fried steak challenge (with 4.5 pounds of meat) in Spokane had 850 unsuccessful attempts before 125 pound Mandy Brown completed it in 1992.

Guidelive: Adam Richman Dallas show cancelled

Guidelive reports that Adam Richman’s appearance in Dallas tonight has been cancelled. The House of Blues home page does not mention the cancellation, but the event is no longer listed on the calendar. A Houston appearance that was to have taken place tomorrow was previously cancelled.

update LiveNation lists the cancellation of all 4 Adam Richman appareances this month. The December 15 Anaheim show has been postponed to an unlisted date.
