2018 Nathan’s qualifier schedule
Update: The schedule has been posted and registration is open for all qualifiers on http://www.majorleagueeating.com/contests.php 
Notable omissions include all NASCAR qualifiers and the NYNY Casino in Las Vegas which has held a qualifier every year since at least 2003. The Mets ballpark takes over as the longest running qualifier site.
MLE announces that the 2018 Nathan’s qualifier schedule will be released at 2pm Eastern today.
The Cincinnati Reds May 18 and the New York Mets June 24 are probable sites since Nathan’s Famous is listed as a sponsor for those game dates.
A qualifier will not be held at the San Antonio Big League Weekend next month since that event will not take place in 2018 due to the NCAA Final Four being held at the Alamo Dome.

George Shea appears in an advertisement for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway, so the Fort Worth racetrack might be the site of a Nathan's qualifier on April 7 or 8.
The La Costeña Jalapeño Eating Contest will award $3000/$1500/$750 at the Jalapeño Festival in Laredo, TX on February 16. update The contest is apparently restricted to Texas residents according to an application posted by Joe Menchetti.
The Spirit of Texas Festival will be held in College Station, TX from March 23 to 25. The website has no mention of an eating contest. Last year, a MLE chili eating contest was scheduled for the event, but was not held due to weather.
ZestFest will hold a jalapeno eating contest in Irving, TX on Sunday awarding a large screen TV to the winner. A Wingstop Atomic Wing eating contest on Saturday will also award a large screen TV.
The Hops n Hot Sauce Festival will hold a hot pepper eating contest in Houston on January 13 awarding $250 to the winner.
Randy Santel announces that he finished the 28 inch pizza challenge at Carmine's in Kerrville, TX and won $150. The restaurant opened solely for him to do the challenge. He did not win the announced $500 prize because Juan Neave claimed it on December 30.
