Tomoko Miyake has revamped her website and changed its URL from miyaketomoko.com to tomokomiyake.net The website has a flash introduction, but still can be accessed via HTML links, enabling translation with the Google translator. A cartoon Tomoko wearing various national costumes appears on the new site’s pages, which is appropriate for a website making its debut near Halloween.

According to this 2003 article in the Washington Times, Stacey Dales might be the ESPN sideline reporter with the best background for next year’s Nathan’s finals broadcast:
Dales-Schuman is at home behind both a microphone - she cut her promos flawlessly - and a dinner plate. Tough, double-session practices have burned off the calories and she works out on her own, but she still is one of those high-metabolism types who can live on the buffet line and stay maddeningly thin. Some mayonnaise with that? Absolutely. She proceeded to liberally apply the stuff, with apparent glee, from a squeeze bottle. “I’m a hog,” she said while chomping on a giant turkey hoagie.
“She eats like a madwoman,” said Indiana Fever coach Nell Fortner, who worked with Dales-Schuman in the studio during ESPN’s coverage of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament and is one of many who marvels at her appetite. “It’s hilarious. There was food all over the desk. Then with 20 seconds to go before we went on, it’s, like, clear the desk. I tell her she eats like a cow. She grazes all day long.”

Joey 103 units / 8 minutes in the championship? And Takeru Kobayashi’s record (97) is one disappeared?
Water-saturated it is not as it is a cormorant, eating a lot of territory.
Especially glasses spilling his food is terrible.

No reruns are scheduled on ESPN or ESPN2 for the Krystal Square Off finals in the next two weeks, so watch it or record it tomorrow at 2:30 pm eastern on ESPN if you are interested in seeing it.
A live bowling match precedes the Krystal finals, hopefully it will not run over.
With a 30 minute contest length, it does not appear there will be enough time for much more than introductions, the contest and a post-contest interview. From the schedule
2 p.m. - 2:40p.m. - Introduction of eaters by George Shea, Chairman of the IFOCE.
* 2:40 - 2:48 p.m. - 8 minute Krystal Square Off World Championship Final.
* 2:55 pm - Award Presentations
Liz will be counting for Pat Bertoletti, so she should appear on television.

RealityTVWorld has a recap of last night’s immunity challenge in “Survivor: China” which consisted of eating contests involving Chinese foods which are generally not found in a typical Chinese restaurant in the United States:
Frosti quickly ate his 10 chicken hearts ahead of Peih-Gee, and Fei Long took a 1-0 lead. Courtney and Jaime were close as they both tried to choke down three pieces of eel — which included the heads — however Jaime was just a hair quicker opening her mouth and allowing Zhan Hu to tie the score.
Erik also won a close round against Amanda — chomping and swallowing three baby turtles and narrowly being the first to reveal an empty mouth — giving Zhan Hu a 2-1 lead. James faced Denise next and both had to eat two chicken fetuses with feathers. James tried his damndest to throw the challenge, but Denise couldn’t choke back the chicken. James put on a good show, but once he realized Denise wasn’t going to finish her dish, he solemnly ate all that was on his plate and gave Zhan Hu a 3-1 lead.
Needing only one point to win Immunity, Erik ate a 1,000-year-old egg faster than Frosti and clinched it for Zhan Hu.

ojrifkin · More posts about:Contest Previews
Epicurious has a preview of tomorrow’s ramen noodle contest which states that 9 eaters will compete in that event. Joey Chestnut is the only entrant listed who was not in the original press release, leaving 3 other unnamed eaters. A picture of Kevin Carr at the 2004 noodle contest appears in the preview.
updateNYMag.com also has a preview:
This masticating Felix and Oscar have been competing against each other frequently, with the younger, leaner, but less eloquent Janus trumping Conti every time. (The elder statesmen of the New York competitive-eating scene, such preening behemoths as Ed “Cookie” Jarvis, Eric “Badlands” Booker, and “Hungry Charles” Hardy, are now retired from the game.) World champion Joey Chestnut, the man who returned the Nathan’s Mustard Yellow Belt to America, will likely win the contest, but he doesn’t count. He’s from California.
