The Philadelphia Flyers will have a hot dog eating contest on October 22 in honor of Dollar Dog Night.
Jake Melnick's Corner Tap in Chicago, Illinois will hold a bhut jolokai wing eating contest on November 5 awarding 4 theater box tickets to a Bulls or Blackhawks game.
Sonya Thomas on WP Live available online
(via eatingcontest twitter) Sonya Thomas’ appearance on Washington Post Live can now be viewed online. Sonya says that she is considering the meatball eating contest in Las Vegas and that popcorn was her most difficult contest food.

Anna Kowalski relays a rumor that Man vs. Food will be recording at Wooster Street Pizza in Manchester, Connecticut tonight, which Adam Richman did not deny.

The facebook for Around the Way Dog (Nashville area) reports that Dale Boone was the first to finish their #33 Challenge consisting of 3 pounds of hot dogs and 3 pounds of fries. The website for Paventi's Pizza has also been updated to show that Dale Boone was the first to complete its 32 inch pizza.
Kobayashi receives Guinness record after eating 7 HDB in 3 min
Youtube has a clip of Kobayashi receiving a Guinness record after eating 7 hot dogs in 3 minutes. The record Kobayashi attempted to break was 4 hot dogs in 3 minutes and not 23 bunless hot dogs in 3:10 by Lynda Kuerth that was listed by Guinness before it stopped printing eating records in its books in the late 1980s.
R Suzuki has more about the program which says that Kobayashi had to eat sitting down using only one hand and had to show a clean mouth before proceeding to the next hot dog.
Furious Pete on French language TV
A video (requires Microsoft Silverlight plugin) about “Furious” Pete Czerwinski’s sausage eating exhibition is available on the website of the Canadian French language channel TFO. The video narration is in French, but the quotes remain in English with French subtitles. In the clip, Furious Pete offers his advice for improving swallowing techniques.
