The Las Vegas Review Journal covered Rich LeFevre becoming the first person to finish the eight pound burger challenge at The Pub in the Monte Carlo in an article about southern Nevada eating challenges. The article mentions Naader Reda's completion of the 12 pound nacho challenge at Cabo Wabo, but does not give his name.

The “Strasburger” made its debut at yesterday’s Washington Nationals home opener (it will not be available at all home games). The 8 pound burger named in honor of pitcher Stephen Strasburg weighs 8 pounds, costs $59 and has 8,000 to 10,000 calories. The second Strasburger ever purchased was reportedly finished by a two person team. (There are no listed prizes or official recognition for a sole finisher.)

Andrew Lane has a blog entry about Stephanie Torres finishing the Govanator Challenge at Govnr's Park in Denver without assistance, which is usually attempted by two person teams. The estimated weight of the burger, bun, toppings & fries was 13.5 pounds, which Stephanie finished in 53 minutes. Will Millender reports that the three person team consisting of Dave "US Male" Goldstein, "Monster" Marcos Owens and Nick "Papa Gorgio" Kehler fixed failed to complete the 16 pound burger challenge at Super Heroes Shop & Deli in North Plainfield, NJ but finished all of the burger except for a small piece of bread. MyCentralJersey.com reports that Super Heroes in North Plainfield, NJ has started a 16 pound burger challenge for 3 person teams. The challenge is only available on Saturday and the cost of the burger will go to the St. Baldrick’s Cancer Research Foundation if the challenge is not completed.
