Sean Gordon receives Hooters finals spot
The field for Thursday’s Hooters World Wing Eating Championship has been announced. Sean Gordon has apparently received a wild-card berth after eating 94 wings to finish fourth in the Panama City, FL qualifier. 94 wings was not the most by someone finishing outside the top 3: Jeff Butler, Steve Hendry, Juan Rodriguez, Andrew Kogutkiewicz and Corey Fanguy all ate more(94+ results after jump)

Patch reports that the site of the Hooters finals in Clearwater, FL was damaged by a driver Sunday, but will be repaired by July 25, date of the contest. This is the second MLE contest site to be damaged; the Nathan's finals site was closed for several months following Hurricane Sandy.

Miki Sudo, Adrian Morgan, Juan Rodriguez, Jeff Butler and Steve Hendry are expected to compete in tomorrow's Hooters wing qualfier tomorrow. This means that at most five of the 2012 finalists will return to the 2013 finals: Sonya Thomas, Joey Chestnut, Juliet Lee, Erik Denmark and possibly Adrian Morgan.
Hooters in Bakersfield, CA will hold a wing eating contest during halftime of the NBA Finals. According to 23 ABC, the winner will compete in the finals in Clearwater, FL on July 25.
80% of 2013 Hooters finals field set
With four out of five qualifiers complete, 80% of the competitors in the finals of the Hooters wing circuit have been determined and are listed after the jump. At least one of the MLE top 7 (Janus, Stonie, Shoudt, Sudo) will not make the finals. Michelle “Cardboard Shell” Lesco’s wing count of 152 is the highest announced so far this year, surpassing Joey Chestnut’s total by 12. There will be a $20 admission fee for spectators at tomorrow's Hooters Wing qualifier at the Mother of All Runs in Farmersville, TX tomorrow (ticket purchase).
Registration is now open for the Hooters qualifier that will take place at the Cincinnati Reds' ballpark on June 8. Registration will open at noon Central for the eating contest to be held at the Chicago RibFest on June 7.
