ITunes has an app for a game called Foodie King where you play a Mafia member with a big appetite who tries to eat all the food at a restaurant with an outstanding debt.
Col "The Conqueror" MacLaurin appeared on yesterday's episode of Australia's Got Talent. His stunt was called "disgusting" by NineMSN.com.au. Col has started a competitive eating website at http://coltheconqueror.com/ (via Stephanie Wu).
Leah Shutkever finished the "Pancake Problem" challenge at Huckleberry's American Diner in Flaxton, Yorkshire on Saturday, the 3rd person out of 2000 attempts to complete the challenge. The attempt occured while "Beard Meats Food" and Marc Pitt were recording a television program at the restaurant.

2016 Battle of the Big Eaters Teams

TV Tokyo has a page about the Battle of the Big Eaters program that will be televised on January 1. The teams:

  • USA: Molly Schuyler, Pat Bertoletti, Bob Shoudt, Tom Gilbert
  • UK: Adam “Beard Meats Food” Moran, Emma Dalton, Leah Shutkever, Marc
  • Japan: Hatsuyo Sugawara, Hitomi “Russian” Sato, Moeno Azuki, male I don’t recognize
  • Taiwan: Chien Shu, You Lin (?), Ming Che, Ya Lin

It is interesting that Taiwan got a team when competitive eating appears to be a lot bigger in other Asian countries (Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, …)

“Furious” Pete Czerwinksi announces Stay Hungry, a book that will be available on November 30 with the following description:

Stay Hungry follows Furious Pete on his journey from extreme childhood anorexia to a successful career as a competitive eater and YouTube celebrity. You’ll get a first hand look at the gluttony, manipulation, and hilarious antics of the competitive eating world. And, hopefully, you’ll learn a few life lessons along the way

I think Pete is the third competitive eater to have written a book after Natsuko “Gal” Sone and Indonesian Mariska Tracy.
