Max Suzuki set Nathan’s debut record for 10 minute contests
Here is an updated list of the top debuts in Nathan’s hot dog contests according to information in the eatfeats database. Last month in Las Vegas, Max Suzuki set a record for the top debut in a 10 minute contest, exceeded only by Takeru Kobayashi in 2001, who had two minutes longer. (previous list from 2016)
Raina Huang just passed 50,000 subscribers for her youtube channel, making her the first American female competitive eater to hit that benchmark. (Miki Sudo is at 25K, Molly Schuyler has 17K). For non-USA English language channels by female competitive eaters, I think Peggie Neo leads with 307K subscribers. Nela Zisser has 162K and Kate Ovens has 38K

The 19 qualifiers scheduled for 2016-17 are the most since 2007-2008. This means that at least 44 people will qualify for the 2017 finals assuming Matt Stonie and Sonya Thomas receive byes (4 previous champions, 38 qualifier winners and 2 wild cards).
