Hot Dogs in the City blog
hotdogsinthecity.blogspot.com is a new blog solely devoted to hot dogs with a focus on non-chain hot dog restaurants. Their goal is to create a map and directory of all the best hot dog spots on the planet.
BeautifulBrian.com goes on hiatus
Brian Seiken has put beautifulbrian.com on hiatus, apparently in response to an exchange with Mark Lyle. Hopefully Brian will resume writing in the near future, but if he decides to move on, let’s thank him for all the work he has put into his site over the years.
Philly.com Wing Bowl page not being updated
I thought that the philly.com Wing Bowl videos page was not being updated because qualification attempts went on hiatus for the holidays, but qualifying stunts have apparently continued. Philly.com Wing Bowl notes says that “Obi Wing” recently qualified for the Wing Bowl. Obi Wing’s video cannot be found on philly.com, but it can be seen on youtube: Part 1, Part 2.
In other Wing Bowl news, “Dr. Martin Luther Wing” will try to qualify for the Wing Bowl tomorrow by eating chitlins. “Dr. Wing’s” manager is Wing Bowl 14 entrant Adam “Hungry Hungry Hebrew” Taxin says “Black history will be made this month of February.”
CanadianCompetitiveEaters.com opens
The website for the AICE-affiliated Canadian Competitive Eaters Association, canadiancompetitiveeaters.com is now open. The organization’s founder is In-Ting Ho, also known as the “Hungry Genius”
Rockford Corner Bar website updated
The website for the Rockford Corner Bar has been retooled. The hot dog “Hall of Fame” has been updated to list Tim Janus’ record breaking performance from March, but only three names are listed on that page. Janus is listed as the professional record holder while Balinda Gould is the amateur champion. Sharon VanDuinen’s (Scholten) 23 year reign is mentioned, but the article about her has been removed.
Sonya Thomas apologizes & restores website
Sonya Thomas has apologized for her conduct following the meatball contest, restored her website and made a commitment to compete in Wing Bowl 15.

Central Lakes Eating Team on myspace
The Central Lakes (Minnesota) Eating Team has a page on myspace at http://www.myspace.com/centrallakeseatingteam Their heros are Takeru Kobayashi, Joey Chestnut, Sonya Thomas and Eater X. Could this be the start of UEMN?

sonyatheblackwidow.com is currently down and brings up a “coming soon” webpage.
Liz’s flight cancelled – No urbanhonking meatball report
Liz report that her redeye flight to JFK has been cancelled, preventing her from writing a report about the meatball contest at the Tropicana in Atlantic City.

Gal Sone’s Love Mayo Diary opens
(from R Suzuki) A website called “Gal Sone’s Love Mayo Diary” recently opened to promote her appearance in an eating contest sponsored by Aoki’s Pizza. The restaurant is offering a mayonnaise pizza in her honor. There is also a slideshow of her personal appearance at Aoki’s Pizza
Helen Haggerty starts a blog
Helen Haggerty has started a blog at helenhaggerty.blogspot.com with a short contest report. She is already looking forward to her next contest, so hopefully we will avoid a situation where an impressive competitive eating debut is followed by immediate retirement. Ms. Haggerty claims that playing college field hockey is responsible for her impressive performance.
Before this extended weekend started, you probably would not have expected that two novice women would win prizes in eating contests and both would be recent Seven Sisters graduates who competed in sports. Gretchen Salyer was a member of the Harvard / Radcliffe crew team.
YaoWing.com looking a bit out of date
If Yao Wing intends to compete in Wing Bowl 15, he should probably update yaowing.com, or at least remove the cartoon on the home page, before he attempts his stunt.
SupersizedMeals.com turns 1 today
Happy Birthday to SupersizedMeals.com The website is celebrating with Meatcake Week from Nov 6-12.
UK mince pie contest web page

Where every day is Oct 31
The best Halloween themed competitive eating blog is maintained by “Deresque” Matsumuto. Deresque finished second to Natsuko “Gal” Sone in a noodle eating contest this past weekend.
Competitive eating / hockey blog
Fiset35 has the only competive eating / hockey themed blog that I am aware of. He lives in North Carolina, but does not root for the Hurricanes (which will make Eater X happy); instead, he supports the now defunct Quebec Nordiques.
Liveblog at krystal-lover
I will not be able to blog this afternoon due to other commitments. Krystal-lover will have a live blog of all the events in Chattanooga, not just the telecast, so I doubt my absence will be missed.
krystaladventure is a blog I just discovered which has some posts about the Square Off finals and qualifiers I you need some KSO material to read while you are waiting for the telecast to begin.
Speedeat.com is down
Speedeat.com brings up a blank page. Hopefully this is a temporary glitch and does not mean that one of the longest running competitive eating websites has been shut down.
JennyDrumgoole.com opens
(from meathaus) Jenny Drumgoole has opened a website showcasing her artwork at JennyDrumgoole.com The full version of “Husky” can be viewed there, which has Jenny appearing as plaintiff and defendant in Judge Mathis’ court. The Wing Bowl 13 documentary is also hosted there, but there is no additional footage not present in the youtube clip. Ms. Drumgoole’s photographs are also available for viewing.
MajorLeagueEating.com entry page opens
(from Philly Guy) MajorLeagueEating.com has opened, but there appears to be currently nothing more to the website other than an entry page. It is surprising that Joey Chestnut, Tim Janus and Rich LeFevre would not be among the eaters pictured on that page.
