92 year old veteran Kenneth Hansen, who served in both World War II and the Korean War, will participate in a chili dog eating contest at the City Tavern in Fort Myers on July 4.

Adrian Morgan wins Miami Nathan’s qualifier

update April 16 Adrian Morgan reports no females competed. I think this is the first time there were no women in a Nathan’s qualifier since the women’s division was started in 2011.

Michael Jenkins ate a 2.5 pound burrito in 2:22 to win the first prize of $250 at tonight's contest at Taco Bus in Tampa. Registration is now open for a Nathan's qualifier at the Tampa RiverFest on May 6. A qualifier in Valdosta, GA on May 13 has also been listed.
Joey Fatone of NSYNC will be present in Orlando from 5 - 8 pm today for the launch of a hot dog eating challenge at his restaurant, Fat Ones Dogs.

Taco Bus will hold a burrito eating contest in Tampa on April 6 awarding $250/$150/$50/$25/$25. Entrants will need to eat an El Jefe burrito by March 31 to qualify.
News Press has an interview with Pablo Martinez about competing in Saturday's Nathan's qualifier in Fort Myers, FL. Mary Bowers, Crazy Legs Conti, Nate Figueroa, Bill Weller and Steven Rossomando are also expected to compete. The article incorrectly claims the competition will be the first qualifier in southwest Florida; contests were held in Naples, FL in 2012 and 2013.

El Nuevo Herald has the field for Sunday's croqueta eating contest in Miami: Joey Chestnut, Carmen Cincotti, Geoff Esper, Gideon Oji, Adrian Morgan, Michelle Lesco and Erik Denmark.
