The second episode of the MLE podcast, Men in Boaters, was released today and mentioned the expected entrants of Saturday's Nathan's qualifiers. Pablo Martinez and Rene Rovtar are expected to compete in Fort Myers, FL while Juan Neave, Nate Biller, Crazy Legs Conti, Steve Schuster and Kassie Zapata headline the Poteet, TX field.
Defending champion Carmen Cincotti and 2016 winner Yasir Salem are expected to compete in the corn eating contest at the Sweet Corn Fiesta in West Palm Beach, FL on April 29.
TampaBay.com has an interview with Molly Schuyler about her victory Thursday in the Taco Bus El Jefe Burrito eating contest. Before winning the $2,500 prize, she won $500 for finishing the Inferno Soup challenge at Nitally's, which she calls the worst experience of her competitive eating career. An official MLE podcast, Men in Boaters, has been started with Rich Shea and Crazy Legs Conti as co-hosts. They call Sam Barclay, the emcee of tomorrow's Nathan's qualifier in Miami, who says that Rene Rovtar will have a female competitor from Winter Park, FL. Eric "Badland" Booker and George Shea also did podcasts earlier this week about the qualifier for Miami.CBSlocal.com.
Taco Bus has extended its qualification period for the El Jefe Burrito Eating Championship until April 4. The contest on April 5 in Tampa will award $2500/$1000/$500.
Eric "Badlands" Booker announces that he will compete in the Nathan's qualifier at the Marlins ballpark on Saturday. Unlike last year's qualifier in Miami, the competition will be held outside the stadium before the game, so there might be the possibility for walk-on entrants which could avoid an all-male field like the 2017 qualifier had.

George Shea did an interview on the Hochman and Crowder show in CBS Miami this afternoon and announced Geoff Esper, Darron Breeden and Badlands Booker as expected entrants in Sunday's World Championship Croqueta Eating Contest on Sunday.
Foodbeast.com has a writeup of an interview Adam Richman did with Mike Chen of Strictly Dumpling. The former Man v. Food host claims that Munchies in Sarasota, FL put an entire bottle of ghost chili extract into its 420 hot wings challenge, which made breathing difficult.
Orlando Food Guys have an Instagram video of Joey Chestnut finishing the challenge burger in 40 seconds at Beth's Burger Bar while he was in Orlando for the World Chili Eating Challenge.

Pelican Larry's in Naples, FL will hold a hot dog eating contest on February 24 and a wing eating contest on February 25. Both competitions will award $200 to the winner.
