Molly Schuyler finishes Great Steak Challenge in 3:22

The facebook page for The Great Steak Challenge at Steak an Main in North East, MD announces that Molly Schuyler finished the meal consisting of approximately 74 ounces of steak in 4:30. This would probably be the record for any 72+ ounce steak challenge, surpassing marks of 6:48 by Pete Czerwinksi (Lone Star in Toronto) and 8:52 by Joey Chestnut (Big Texan at Amarillo, TX) Wayne Algenio also finished the challenge in 28 minutes last night.

update Molly Schuyler finished a 6 pound gyro in 15 minutes today at Gyros and Goodies in Washington TWP, NJ.

MASNSports.com has video of a donut eating contest where Baltimore Oriole outfielder faced off against a fan who submitted won a contest after submitting a challenge idea. update Sept 9 The Suffolk News Herald has an article about the contest.
The Starboard in Dewey Beach, DE announces that a woman (probably named Beth) won overall first place in its suicide wing eating contest last Sunday with a total of 118 wings in 30 minutes. She received a $200 bonus for being the top woman in addition to the $500 overall prize.
The Starboard in Dewey Beach will hold its annual suicide wing contest on July 21. The winner will receive $500 and the top woman will win $200.
Joe Menchetti reports that he was the runner up with 22.5 hot dogs at Fish Tales' hot dog eating contest in Ocean City, MD today. J Mac (presumably Jamie McDonald, who was listed as a competitor in Kobayashi's event) won the contest with 36.
Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones will face fan Parker Duke of Suffolk, VA in a donut eating contest. Parker Duke won a contest to determine the type of challenge in which he would compete against Jones.
Fish Tales in Ocean City, MD will hold its annual hot dog eating contest awarding $1,000 to the winner on July 4. Entrants need to qualify by eating 5 hot dogs.

The finals of the Baltimore Taco Eating Championship will award $400 at the Federal Hill Fiesta on May 5. Qualifiers will take place on April 21 and 25 with men's and women's divisions.

The University of Maryland's competitive eating club team will be leaving the Atlantic Coast Conference to join the Big 10 when the school changes leagues in 2014-15. (The team's facebook page has not been updated since early 2011.) The move could create a competitive eating superconference with Eric Dahl, perhaps the nation's top collegiate competitive eater, already in the Big 10 at the University of Wisconsin.

A qualifier for the National Cheeseburger Slider Eating Championship will be held today at BGR in Tampa (female bodybuilder Emery Miller will apparently compete). The date was originally announced as September 28. Additional qualifiers awarding $500 and a trip to the championship in May 2013 will be held tomorrow in Bethesda, MD, Coral Gables, FL, Atlanta and possibly Point Loma, CA.
