In Henderson, NV (south Las Vegas area, home of the LeFevres) on August 22, a hot dog eating contest will be held in conjunction with a wet t shirt contest. The hot dog contest has a $100 entry fee (for charity) and will award $500 to the winner.

GJoe, Boone, Furious Pete in IFOCE sanctioned contest?

The Delaware Sports Examiner has a preview of Jake’s burger eating contest finals that will take place at the July 31 Wilmington Blue Rocks game. According to the article, the contest will be sanctioned by the IFOCE (?) and four professional competitive eaters (Pete Czerwinski, Dale Boone, Joe Menchetti and Ian Hickman) and four amateurs will compete.

The Hudson Reporter reports that 71 year old Joseph Wigdor ate 14 hot dogs in Saturday's hot dog eating contest in Bayonne, NJ, which placed him third at the end of reguation time.

(Apparently the Glutton Bowl was just rerun on Fox Reality). Shaquille O’Neal will be starring in Shaq vs. later this summer in which he will face off against star athletes in sports other than basketball. Perhaps competitive eating could be one of the events.

Man vs. Food season 2 cities & air dates

The Man vs. Food home page has a list of season 2 episodes containing featured cities and projected air dates. The episodes for Boise, Washington, DC, Baltimore, Detroit, Brooklyn, Anchorage, Little Rock, Tuscon and New Jersey have yet to be recorded. At the conclusion of season 2 recording, Milwaukee, Buffalo, San Diego, Dallas, Houston, Nashville, Kansas City, Phoenix and Miami will not have been visited.

Adam Richman to attempt Krispy Kreme burger tomorrow

BND reports that Adam Richman of Man vs. Food will attempt “Baseball’s Best Burger” at tomorrow’s Gateway Grizzlies game in Sauget, IL (East St. Louis area). The sandwich uses a split Krispy Kreme doughnut as a bun. This will be the third time Man vs. Food has recorded at a minor league stadium (Charleston, SC, W. Michigan) and St. Louis will become the third metropolitan area to be visited twice (SF Bay area, Raleigh-Durham)

MercuryNews reports that Joey Chestnut will participate in the Tour de French Fry on August 2, in which cyclists will travel to San Jose fast food restaurants and sample their fries. Four slots are available to the highest bidder. Proceeds will go to buy bike helmets for children.

A request for a female competitive eater to star in a new reality TV show has been posted to craigslist by OCBfilms. (There does not seem to be much about OCB films' previous projects on the internet.)
The Alternative Press has a report the Coney Island wing eating contest held Saturday sponsored by Atomic Wings. Sean Lennon (age 39, too old to be the son of Yoko Ono) won the contest and Elise Rosenberg was the runner-up. 100 people signed up for 10 slots.
