The new poll asks the amount of Wing Bowl 15 posts you would like this website to provide. At least one commenter feels that the Wing Bowl is too fraudulent to merit coverage. (Results will not be binding)
Channel 4 has a video clip of an on site interview Sonya Thomas did to promote Wednesday’s mince pie eating contest at Wookey Hole Caves.
610wip.com has been updated with Wing Bowl 15 information. The only apparent difference between Wing Bowl 15 and 14 is that veterans are allowed back in and the Philadelphia area winner will also receive a car regardless of his/her overall finish. The contest rules say that the duration remains 30 minutes and AICE eaters are still explicitly banned. 5 IFOCE eaters gain entrance automatically to the contest.
(from R Suzuki) Natsuko “Gal” Sone has started blogging on her home page
Brian Seiken has a full video of Wednesday’s turkey contest at http://hometown.aol.com/beautifulbrian43/page8.html and a 10 minute clip on youtube at http://youtube.com/watch?v=PQJN72Wf5f4
Beautiful Brian has also posted a clip of Don “Moses” Lerman breaking the bologna eating record on Feats of Strength at http://hometown.aol.com/beautifulbrian43/mas44.html
Comments have been turned back on. I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving.
from timesonline.co.uk:
With the news that the Wigan-based World Pie Eating Championship has changed its rules to join the fight against obesity — and introduced a vegetarian option — sport in the town needed to regain its credibility, and were it not for a nightmarish 90 seconds shortly before half-time, this might have been Wigan Athletic’s fifth win in six matches.
The logo for Wing Bowl 15 appears at the top of 610wip.com The only information offered is that there will be eating & wingettes; other details will be provided tomorrow morning.
If you thought you ate too much pumpkin pie this weekend, you can take comfort in the fact that you probably did not eat as much pie as the competitors in a pumpkin pie eating contest. The Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus had an eating contest for its elephants as they settled into winter quarters in Tampa.
Joey Chestnut is celebrating his 23rd birthday today according to his Wikipedia entry. The world’s top young female eater under 25, Natsuko “Gal” Sone is also a Sagitarius.
The documetary Crazy Legs Conti: Zen and the Art of Competitive Eating makes Cinematical’s list of seven documentaries to avoid following Thanksgiving Super Size Me is also on the list.
Tomoko Miyake celebrated her 23rd birthday by eating a 22 pound (10 kg) curry team challenge with two-time Gluttunous King Takuya Yamamoto at Ganso Toro Katsu Curry. A video of the party can be seen at http://gansotorokatsucurry.com/1123.wmv
The Sewickly Herald has an article about Uncle Charley’s Sausage Eating Contest finals and brief profiles of some of the competitors. Uncle Charley’s website has yet to be updated with the 2nd qualifier results.
The “Helen Haggerty” incident has made me realize that I have become way too wrapped up in this website and I need to spend the remainder of this week completely away from IFOCE competitive eating. There will be no posting about IFOCE events, comments by registered or unregistered users allowed or emails read until Sunday at the earliest. I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving.

Youtube has a funny short film about a fictional turkey eating challenge at http://youtube.com/watch?v=ATgdFR_15w4
IFOCE.com results:
Patrick Bertoletti: 4.8 lbs
Tim Janus: 3.8 lbs
Arturo Rios: 2.8 lbs
Crazy Legs Conti: 2.38 lbs
Justin Mih: 2.375 lbs
Eric “Steak Bellie” Livingston: 1.80 lbs
Brian Subich: 1.42 lbs
Sonya Thomas DQ – first DQ of 3.5 year IFOCE career
Does anyone have prize money breakdown?

The video shows it is rather clear cut that Sonya merited disqualifying. She is taking the DQ with equanimity on her website.
Brian Seiken will also have video he recorded later today. He spoke to Sonya after the contest and said she told him she got turkey caught in her adam’s apple.
The Manchester Evening news reports that the “World Pie Eating Championship”, held at Harry’s Bar in Wallgate has altered its rules to appease the health lobby. The contest format was originally an eat all you can in 3 minutes, but now the winner will be the eater who can eat a single meat pie in the fastest amount of time. A vegetarian pie eating contest was also added.
This is a different contest from the IFOCE endorsed mince pie eating contest that will be held a week from now.
updated this is London and metro.co.uk also have articles
The Toronto Star has an excellent writeup of the Eat Your Face Off contests:
With the salesmanship of Ron Popeil and the bombast of Ed McMahon, the heavily-sideburned Chapman is emceeing this competition, frantically barking the play-by-play throughout — “You’ve got to finish your milk! Your momma always told you, you’ve gotta finish your milk!” — including the two amateur meets, the first of which kicked off the entire show, right in the middle of the casino.
Jason “Erbivore” Erb will also be appearing on “1 vs. 100”
Duhneese had El Toro Jimenez as her hotel bellman when she stayed in Las Vegas. She said that El Toro claimed he would appear on the game show “1 vs. 100” in December.
This will make two NBC IFOCE appearances in about a month which is surprising since the IFOCE contests are on ABC/ESPN. Kobayashi appeared on Saturday Night Live recently.
The Niagara Falls review has an article about Saturday’s Eat Your Face Off contests focusing on Tom “Goose” Gilbert and his disqualification from the milk & cookies contest.
Amateur results for that event have also been added to AICE news
If you would like competitive eating themed art in a size larger than a magnet, Super Paul Bonebreaker Barlow has prints for sale of “The Last Supper”, “The Whaler” and a self portrait.

The Cibola Beacon has an article about the posole contest with a different list of results than can be found on IFOCE.com:
World Posole Eating Championships
1st Place – Pat Bertoletti $1000 – 9lbs, 2.25 oz
2nd Place – Tim Janus $500 – 8lbs, 10.75 oz
3rd Place – Rich Lafevre $350 – 8lbs, 8 oz
4th Place – Erik Denmark $250 – 7lbs, 5 oz
5th Place – Marco Marquez $150
I am rather disappointed at being lied to and made a fool of and this will probably affect the future direction of eatfeats. 🙁 Thanks to the people who alerted me that something was fishy this morning.
