All Pro Eating has updated their top 20 list of independent eaters. Brandon "Da Disposal" Clark enters the roster at #7.
Rub Smokehouse in the UK will award £500 in Rub Vouchers to the fastest finisher of its Nugzilla giant chicken nugget challenge if he or she can break 6 minutes. Andy Salisbury currently has the fastest time of 6:20. (via Chronicle Live)
The Amazing Race youtube channel has a preview video for Wednesday's episode recorded in Tangiers, Morocco starring Joey Chestnut and Tim "Eater X" Janus. It appears one of the challenges Team Chomp will face will be belly dancing.

2018 Finkies awards winners

The Fink Beats the Stomach announced the winners of their “Finkies” awards for 2017, which were based on online polls:

Rookie of the Year: Rene Rovtar
Showman of the Year: Beard Meats Food
Male Competitive Eater of the Year: Joey Chestnut
Female Competitive Eater of the Year: Michelle “Cardboard Shell” Lesco
Emcee of the Year: Eric “Badlands” Booker

Darron Breeden did not agree with the Rookie of the Year choice. Molly Schuyler and Miki Sudo have yet to comment on the Female of the Year award.

Buffalo Chips in Bonita Springs, FL will hold the Florida State Chicken Wing Eating Contest on January 20 awarding $500 to the winner. Entrants need to qualify.
Dave Brunelli ate 50 wings in last night's Wing Off at P J Whelihan's in Maple Shade, NJ to win a spot in Wing Bowl 26. Adult entertainer Nadia White was runner up with 35 wings, which might be a women's record for a Wing Bowl qualifier.

Joey Chestnut and Tim "Eater X" Janus, competing as Team Chomp, managed to avoid finishing in last place in yesterday's debut episode of the 30th season of The Amazing Race and will appear in week 2. The most daunting challenge of the episode was traversing a gorge in Iceland using a zipline. Teams also had to imbibe Icelandic alcohol; Team Chomp's drinking did not appear in the episode. This is not the first reality TV show, the duo appeared in. In a 2010 episode of Shaq vs. Joey Chestnut faced off in a hot dog eating contest against the NBA great after he was coached by Tim Janus (via 2 paragraphs)
