ESPNMediaZone3.com has information about ESPN's coverage of the Nathan's finals on July 4. Pat Bertoletti will wear a heart monitor during the contest.
AOL Weird News has an article about the Nathan's women's division with quotes from Larell Marie Mele confirming that the female contest will not be televised on ESPN; live coverage will be available online on ESPN3.
The women's contest at the Nathan's finals may not appear on ESPN. IFOCE.com lists the start time of the female division at 11:30 am eastern and the ESPN broadcast will start at 12 noon eastern. (Grace Lee has planned a watch party, hopefully the women's contest will appear on some channel)

Hungry Todd Rungy has posted a video recorded at the 2010 Fantastic Fest in Austin of his attempt to confront actor Ryan Reynolds about a 2007 Huffington Post blog entry attacking competitive eating. Rungy has also set up a facebook group calling for a boycott of Reynolds' new movie The Green Lantern. (In the blog entry Reynolds calls Don Lerman "my main man")

The Man vs. Food facebook has information about the Man vs. Food Nation casting call contest. Entrants are to submit a video about themselves and the food challenge they want to attempt. The deadline for video submission in July 16. (contest rules)

Kobayashi outtake in SuperFreakonomics
The paperback version of SuperFreakonomics was released today. In 2008, co-author Stephen J. Duber wrote about attending the Nathan’s finals and dining with Kobayashi. The notes section of SuperFreakonomics reports that Dubner’s research was to be part of a chapter about how super talented individuals acquire their talent that was dropped from the published version when other books on that topic appeared. Man vs. Food: Nation to open with New Haven, CT on June 1
The site of the first episode of Man vs. Food: Nation to be televised (at 9 pm eastern on June 1) will be New Haven, CT. The Tampa episode will follow immediately after. On Wednesday May 25, an hour long show consisting of clips of the new season and eating challenge videos will air. Randy Santel received notice that his videos will not be used in the program.
Will Millender produced a rap video about the Go! Go! Curry! eating finals on May 28 which includes a "diss" of Dave "US Male" Goldstein.
Renee Herlocker announces that she will be the field reporter for ESPN's broadcast of the Nathan's finals on July 4. update May 19 SBNation has more on Herlocker, who was a Denver Broncos cheerleader from 2000 to 2006.
TCBMag reports that Page Productions, producer of the Food Network shows Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and Outrageous Food is suing the Food Network for breach of contract.
Probable Man vs. Food Milwaukee casting call
Reality wanted has a casting call for a big eater to appear in upcoming episode of an unnamed reality show to be filmed in Milwaukee. The show is most likely Man vs. Food: Nation. Reality Wanted also has a request for someone to attempt an eating challenge for a Louisville episode recorded earlier this month and Fox41 reports that Man vs. Food filmed in Kentucky on May 9. (A possible candidate would be Molly Cary, the only competitive eater Pat Bertoletti has faced off against and never defeated. She was the runner-up in a 2004 Milwaukee corned beef eating contest Bertoletti finished third in and has not done another IFOCE contest.)
Adam Richman's appearance on ESPN2's First Take on Thursday to promote Man vs. Food: Nation can be viewed online.
The Travel Channel has a list of cities that will be featured in upcoming episodes of Man vs. Food: Nation with longer descriptions of the Tampa, Albuquerque, Harlem, Nashville and New Haven, CT episodes.
Jeff Dino has produced a picture comparing the challenge meals he and his friends received (which appears to be the Ironman omelet from the Broken Yolk Cafe) with the meal eaten by Adam Richman on an episode of Man vs. Food
