In a Broadcasting & Cable article, Ken Lowe, the CEO of Scripps (owner of the Travel Channel), announces the cancellation of Man vs. Food and reports that Adam Richman will be appearing in new vehicles on the channel. Lowe said the program was not salvageable even though it was responsible for 42% of the network's primetime impressions.

Tomorrow's episode of Disaster House on the DIY network will feature a constest between two competitive eaters and two garbage disposal units. Bryan "Big Sexy" Beard will be one of the competitive eaters.
Austinist has an interview with "Hungry" Todd Rungy about his television project which received funding through Kickstarter. Rungy describes Joey Chestnut as "not really like, a patriot, you know" who lacks personality. (Joey Chestnut did a tour of Pacific military bases with Adrian Morgan and Crazy Legs Conti last year and his brother served in the National Guard in Iraq.)

“America’s Biggest Eater” aims to be “American Idol” of eating

The facebook page for America’s Biggest Eater is accepting videos from amateur competitive eaters. Bill “El Wingador” Simmons will serve as host for the reality TV show, which has the following description:

Billed as “American Idol meets the Contender “, the show will feature “eat-offs” to narrow down a field of over 100 amateur eaters to ten finalists. The finalists will then compete in surprise elimination-style eating competitions for significant prizes, and the chance to be crowned by Elwingador as America’s Biggest Eater.

A facebook page has been set up to promote Adam Richman's new show on the Travel Channel, Amazing Eats. The first two episodes will be televised on Wednesday, January 11 and feature burgers and pork.
The episode of Bones about the death of a female competitive eater will be rerun tonight on Fox.
