The LA Times article about the "Big Fat Fatty" challenge at Fat Sal's deli has been updated to indicate that Jamie McDonald is not the sole finisher. The second finisher of the challenge, Miki Sudo, is not mentioned by name.

The LA Times has a article about the "Big Fat Fatty" challenge at Fat Sal's Deli in Los Angeles listing Jamie McDonald (name spelled as "Jaime") as the sole finisher. Miki Sudo has also finished the 27 inch sandwich. update August 8 Thrillist.com has a gallery of the construction of the sandwich.

The cheerleaders from Sonora High defeated the football team from La Habra High at the La Habra (CA) Corn Festival today. The cheerleaders and football teams from the schools were to have faced off, but the Sonora High football team did not show up.

The entrants list for next month's Day-Lee Foods World Gyoza Eating Championship has been announced. Top 10 ranked competitors are Joey Chestnut, Matt Stonie, Bob Shoudt and Miki Sudo. "LA Beast" is listed, so apparently he has decided to unretire after announcing competitive eating was too small an arean for his talents on July 4.

The Cooking with Jack Show has a video about Saturday's hot dog eating contest held at Dog Haus Dogs in Pasadena won by Jimmy Lin (the contest starts around the 9:30 mark). The video is part of the Ford Fiesta Mission.

Qualifying times for Farrell's Splendiferously Superific Summer Spectacular Ice Cream Eating Challenge have been updated. Naader Reda is the only pro to have qualified, which will guarantee him $300 in the finals on July 21 in Brea, CA if no one else qualifies as a professional. Qualifying ends July 14.
