New Poll: world’s 2nd best female competitive eater
The new poll asks who you think is the world’s best female competitive eater after Sonya Thomas.
International Week on eatfeats
There is so little going on in United States competitive eating, I have decided to declare this “International Week” (which actually started last Friday afternoon). Unless major news breaks, all posts will be about non-US contests or eaters until this weekend.
Links in sidebar updated
The links in the blog sidebar have been updated. If you have an unlisted competitive eating related link that you would like added, or if your link was removed and you would like it reinstalled, please email the URL. Only links which have been inactive for several months have been removed.

Initial appearance of “table ender” on eatfeats
Wing Tut has an inquiry on the first use of “table ender” in competitive eating. The first appearance of that term on this website occurred on September 20 of last year in a comment by Steakbellie.
New Poll: founding member of new eating organization
A recent megamunch blog entry says:
My point is, if you begin to rate eaters based on these categories, you can begin to see why some eaters were chosen for the Spike contest and how some eaters are actually more valuable performers than higher ranked guys like Joey Chestnut and, dare I say, Takeru Kobayashi? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, If I were starting a new CE league and had the opportunity to draft one MLE eater, it would be either Eater X or Crazy Legs.
The new poll asks what eater you would choose as the cornerstone of a new competitive eating organization. You can choose whatever factor you like: current eating ability, projected future eating ability, stage presence, likability, etc. The top 12 ranked IFOCE members were listed along with 3 AICE and 3 Japanese eaters. The poll allows a maximum of 20 choices.
New Poll: classic rock themed eating contest
BeautifulBrian.com has a podcast in which he plays segments from classic songs from the 1960s and 1970s while providing commentary and historical information.
Keeping in line with that theme, the new poll asks what classic rock song should an eating contest be based on. Youtube videos of the songs in the poll are listed below.
Jimmy Buffet “Cheeseburger in Paradise”: official video
King Crimson “Larks’ Tongues in Aspic”: 1972 performance

Megamunch has compiled a list of the highest poundages in IFOCE history. A list of poundages (for foods measured in pounds) above 10 obtained directly from the eatfeats database is available after the jump. The final round of Food Battle Club in 2001 had 10 kg (22 pounds) of curry.

New poll: Opinion on dunking
The new poll asks your opinion on what contests, if any, should immersing food in water be allowed.
In other dunking/eating news, the Deseret News has an article about Stanford basketball player Michelle Harrison, whose big appetite has not impeded her reported ability to dunk:
At the games Harrison is known as “Snacks,” or “that girl from Utah,” by most of the other players and staff. Her nickname was given to her by Abi Olajuwon — daughter of NBA legend Hakeem Olajuwon — after a group of players ate at Applebee’s and Michelle ate twice as much as anyone else.
“She ate it all,” said Olajuwon, who is headed to college at Oklahoma. “She didn’t have a take-out container or anything.”
New Poll: next movie themed eating contest
The new poll asks what you think should be the food and location for the next movie based eating contest. I have limited the list to films where the memorable eating or food scene has a real world location. Please list any other possibilities in the comments.
New Poll: next IFOCE eater documentary
After the DVD release of “Zen and the Art of Competitive Eating” about Crazy Legs Conti, the new poll asks what top 20 IFOCE eater should be the next subject of a documentary.

Don Lerman believes he has found the location and day job of the maintainer of this website.
New Poll: 2007 IFOCE rookie of the year
Liz reports that Arturo Rios, Jr. was named the 2007 IFOCE rookie of the year. The new poll asks who you believe should have been awarded that honor. I am defining 2007 rookie as someone who first entered an IFOCE contest in 2006.
New Poll: top 4 IFOCE members
The new poll asks how you would rank the top 4 IFOCE members. All choices have Joey and Kobayashi 1-2 (or vice versa) and Pat #3. If you have an alternate ordering, please list it in the comments.

Reasons for eater links removal
In the most recent website update, I removed some eater links that were either private myspace pages or apparently abandoned blogs. Those links were removed because there was not much new information on them available to the general public and not because of issues with any of the removed eaters. Some of those links have been restored.
New Poll: world’s best under 25 female competitive eater

Sidebar updated; IFOCE points dropped
I have updated the links in the sidebar. Please let me know if there are any competitive eating related websites you would like added that are not present.
I also decided to drop the IFOCE points totals from the sidebar (replacing it with the Nathan’s finalists) and will not restore them unless top 10 results for all 2007 contests are provided.
