Registration opened today for all 2019 Nathan’s Famous qualifiers: update A Miami Marlins qualifier on April 20 has been added.

If no competitions are added, there will be 13 qualifiers on the 2018-19 circuit, down from 19 in 2017-18.

A list of all the qualifier winners in the 2017-18 Nathan’s qualifier winners follows. Joey Chestnut, Matt Stonie, Sonya Thomas and Miki Sudo receive byes to the finals as previous champions. Steffi Valkov has said she will not compete. Additional entrants might be added to the final roster.

Bailey Otter might have eaten more than winner
If Nick Wehry does not win today’s qualifier, he will be the first person to do 33+ hot dogs in a circuit and not make the finals. Previous competitors who hit that mark either won a subsequent qualifier or received the wild card. The previous high for not making the finals was Pat “from Moonachie” Philbin’s 32 in 2009.

The ESPN schedule for July 4 is out. The men's Nathan's finals will be televised live on ESPN2 at noon Eastern and rerun three times later that day. The women's contest has yet to be added to the ESPN3 streaming schedule. (ESPN2 will broadcast First Take at 10am when the female division takes place.) June 21, 2018 at 7:29 am by
