Regis Philbin refereed 1963 eating contest featuring Ernie Ladd
The MLE facebook announces that Pat Bertoletti, Tim Janus and Crazy Legs Conti will attempt to break the record for banana eating on tomorrow’s episode of Live with Regis & Kelly.
Regis Philbin had previous involvement with competitive eating before the debut of Live with Regis & Kelly. In 1963, he served as a referee for an eating contest between San Diego Charger defensive lineman / pro wrestler Ernie “Big Cat” Ladd and Nick Cordileone.
