The rules say the winner (who must be from NY/NJ/CT/PA) "will be selected based on their ability to promote the city of New York on-air during a phone call with CBS New York and CBS Philadelphia station employees.

The Des Moines Register reports that Molly Schuyler broke the record (now 7:08) for the Adam Emmenecker challenge at Jethro's BBQ in Altoona, Iowa today. This was her fourth successful attempt at the sandwich.

The New York Times recently ran a report about the filming of "The Canyons", an upcoming movie directed by Paul Schrader ("Taxi Driver" & "Raging Bull" screenwriter) starring Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen. The male lead's next project will be "James Deen loves Food" that will record tonight at The Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas.

Molly Schuyler & Eric Dahl finish 36 inch Randy’s Pizza challenge

The Des Moines Register has an article about Molly Schuyler’s attempt to become a four time finisher of the Adam Emmenecker sandwich challenge at Jethro’s BBQ. This afternoon she finished the challenge in Waukee, IA, but did not break the all-time record. Tonight, Molly will attempt the 36 inch challenge at Randy’s Pizza in Oakdale, MN with Eric Dahl and on Friday she will attempt the Adam Emmenecker at Jethro’s Altoona, Iowa location. The challenge will appear on an ABC5 News segment later today.

update Jan 17 Eric & Molly finished the 36 inch pizza as time expired. They complete the challenge at the 37 minute mark of the uStream video.

Philly.com reports that 5-time champion Bill "El Wingador" Simmons will not attend or be involved with Wing Bowl 21 after his arrest for cocaine distribution in June (he is currently awaiting trial). Despite his legal issues, Simmons believes he would make the overall American top 3 after training.

Four competitors (Dallas / Fort Worth area residents only) will be selected this week for a "trash talk off" on January 18 that will determine the overall winner.

Druitt Standard has an article about the Lone Pine Tavern chili eating contest claiming Crescenzo Rillo won the contest instead of Daniel Mercer.)
