He incorrectly claims it will be his second contest in Las Vegas after recording shows for Spike TV in 2007; he also won the US Open of Competitive Eating tournament in 2005. On Joey Chestnut he says: "I don’t like him at all, I dislike him very much."

The field has been announced for the Gringo Bandito Hot Sauce & Chronic Tacos Challenge in Las Vegas July 29. Takeru Kobayashi and Molly Schuyler will compete at the same table for the first time. Pat Bertoletti, Dave Brunelli, Kevin Ross and Naader Reda are also expected. There will also be an open amateur contest.
Registration will open today for the Hooters Wing Eating Championship in Las Vegas on July 11. The purse will be $17500. Registration will also open today for the Kale Yeah! The World's Healthiest Eating Championship in Buffalo on July 9.
A press release announces the Gringo Bandito Chronic Tacos Eating Contest will take place at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on Friday, July 29. Could this be the first head-to-head matchup between Molly Schuyler and defending champion Takeru Kobayashi?
Registration is now open for the American Burger Company Roadstar Challenge in Charlotte, NC on July 23. This will be the first MLE non-qualifier in the Carolinas, Georgia or Virginia since a funnel cake eating contest at Kings Dominion in Virginia in 2009. Registration is also open for the Nugget World Rib-Eating Championship in Sparks, NV on August 31.
