(Via Philadelphia City Paper) "Gluttonous Maximus" is a new youtube series about big Philadelphia area meals. Their first video is about the five pound burrito at the Tortilla Press in Collingswood, New Jersey.
TThaFranchise's twitter reports that he will judge an eating contest at 7pm tonight that will award Nuggets and Avalanche tickets at Bender's Bar & Grill in Westminster, Colorado. update The contest food will be a four pound burger and the prize will be two Nuggets and two Avs tickets.

New Travel Channel companion series to Man vs. Food

There is now a new series in the works that will be a companion to Man V Food, and they are coming to Tucson to prove if El Guero Canelo really does have the best Sonoran dog in Tucson.
They are welcoming fans to the shoots where they will conduct interviews and then feature the ultimate Superfan on the show. They will also be pitting El Guero Canelo Vs a challenger.
A craigslist posting seeks audience members for Austin filming sessions that will take place from January 20-22.

2010 Boston Wing Bowl announced
98.5 The Sports Hub has announced the second Boston Wing Bowl. The finals will take place on February 4 and award $3,000 to the winner ($5,000 total purse). Entrants will qualify in 90 second on-air stunts next week.
update Three qualifiers will be held. The first will take place tomorrow at the Boston Beer Garden.

Denver pizza challenge increases prize to $1,000
Westword reports that Virgilio’s Pizza in Denver will award $1,000 to the first diner that can finish its 10-11 pound pizza challenge after receiving feedback that the challenge was too difficult. A 7 pound pizza challenge awarding $100 and a 5 pound challenge awarding $25 have also been added.
Gal Sone vs. “Hard Gay”
Youtube has another video of Gal Sone competing disguised as an old woman Part 1 | Part 2. One of the members of the three person team she competes against is tarento “Hard Gay” who has the following description in Wikipedia:

93.7KCountry will hold a wing eating contest in Gainseville, Florida on January 30 that will award a trip to the Country Music Awards show in Las Vegas. Qualifiers will be held on January 22 and January 26.
The website for X107.5 has the rules for the Las Vegas Wing Bowl, which require residency in Clark County. Section b of the eligibility restrictions has been blacked out, but if it is highlighted, it will show a ban on professional eaters.
