The Sun Sentinel reports that Miami Marlins pitcher A. J. Ramos attempted the Iron Man omelet challenge at the Broken Yolk Cafe after on the team's recent day off in San Diego. He was inspired to try the 6 pound meal after seeing an unnamed woman on the wall of fame (as far as I know, Stephanie Torres is the only female finisher) and had the following comments: "She wasn't big or anything. She was pretty good looking, too. I'd hate to take her on a date. She might eat more than me". update Jessica also finished the omelet challenge.
Swedish female bodybuilder Sophie Arvebrink claims she ate 7,000-8,000 calories a day over three weeks.

Marco “Mongo” Marquez is at the qualifier, which would be his first MLE contest since the Isle Black Hawk Rocky Mountain Oyster Eating World Championship in 2010.
It does not appear the contest will have a problem with spectators viewing the contest from nearby buildings
The building formerly housing the NASCAR cafe at the former Sahara hotel in Las Vegas was demolished as part of a renovation project that will result in the property's reopening as SLS Las Vegas in fall 2014. The restaurant famous for the 6+ pound B3 Burrito closed in 2011.(via Captain Dave)
Pat Bertoletti will tell "true stories of booze, crazy nights and questionable decisions" at The Blackout Diaries in Chicago tomorrow night. Tickets are $10.
There will be a $20 admission fee for spectators at tomorrow's Hooters Wing qualifier at the Mother of All Runs in Farmersville, TX tomorrow (ticket purchase).

The West Coast BBQ Classic at the Queen Mary in Long Beach will hold watermelon and peach cobbler eating contests Saturday. One of the prizes will be a two night stay aboard the Queen Mary.
Brew Bistro and Lounge in Nairobi, Kenya is holding a 1.5 kg burger challenge on Tuesdays.
The Brooklyn Pizza Eating Contest sponsored by Rocco's Pizzeria will take place at the Bay Ridge 5th Avenue Festival on June 2. Last year's contest awarded $450 ($300 to the winner).

Diablo's Cantina in Las Vegas will hold a "Hot Chicks vs. Hot Wings" contest on May 14 awarding $5000. Entry is restricted to "service industry ladies".
B for Banishment: Bertoletti, Brown, Biller out of MLE top 50, Miki Sudo #7
update May 10 Rake & Herald has a post about the new rankings containing an interview with Pat Bertoletti who says he declined to extend his MLE contract due to issues it was causing with the Glutton Force Five food truck and his “Stuffed” youtube series. He says he might have competed in his last eating contest.

Sylvester's Burgers in Los Osos, CA will hold the "Beef Bath Bonanza", a five pound burger eating on May 26. Entrants will need to qualify by eating a one pound burger. The contest will award $1,000 to the winner according to this news video.
The House of Cupcakes announces it will unveil a 25 pound (35,800 calorie) cupcake with the face of Mayor Michael Bloomberg for the opening of its New York City location on Thursday.
A press release announces that two teams of six representing local charities will compete in the Burger Battle on June 19 at Smokey Bones locations. No mention is made of an individual contest.
